Grow Bed?

Well i was a little high earlier, no wait really high and i was thinking about a grow bed. Like not have pots, just a big bed of dirt about 1 ft or so deep, and then when the roots come thru the bottom, you could feed them with like a flood and drain system? I know the soil to hydro halfway thru doesnt sound right but is the bed idea legit? will roots tangle? I guess all that would really happen is that you use more dirt than needed ? give me some input about the soil to hydro part tho. Peace

yea well ive had alottttta ideas, but it wont happen for awhile, till i move in the spring or early summer, too many neighbors too small area,im pretty stuck on the omega garden and i plan on trying the volksgarden. but now my ideas are how to duplicate it, like making a motor with a gear and chain,and the only improvments ive seen would be making the circle adjustable to where if you would like to keep your buds goin longer, you can make the plants move farther away from the light, but then i think if i have that problem i might as well try doing lst or tying them down somehow. All that im afraid of is if the water drips on the light and ends up makin it explode or something

This is the method Soma uses. He grows in beds just over 1ft high with a layer of hydro corals at the bottom. The advantage is that the plants roots can grow sideways the length of the bed so they never become root bound.

If the area is big enough then the roots are fine to intertwine...i think it would be a pain in the arse to start a second grow after the first is finished though hahaha...

So you wouldnt mind when your grow is finished... digging up all the dirt and roots and carting up stairs and outside and then replacing it all again??? Pots you can dispose of one by one...

Thank you, i was just about to post that last time because it would be a mess to clean up and difficult as im tryin to use clones at a cycle of ever 2-3 weeks so that would suck. I'm pretty sure that im gonna go Omega garden. Id like to use max amount of one light and growing 80 plants with one light sounds like a plan to me! But like i said i dont plan on all this till i get out of michigan. I have been caught with weed twice now so im done seeing the same p.o. cuz hes a fuckin douche. I gotta get outta this state ya know, i believed in growing for personal, but ill take 5-10 pounds every 50 days lol, keep one or less, then save it up in jars , thne when i got bout a years worth of weed, its off to new jersey

No, he uses an organic soil mix. The hydro corals are to make sure the roots get enough oxygen and don't get water-logged. He runs pvc pipes down through the soil into the hydro corals to provide oxygen to the roots. It's all in his book. It's well worth picking up if you're interested in his methods.

u would plug ur pumps and ur water would get crazy dirty n stuff, prolly a bad idea if thats what ur thinking of.. im sure he just waters it manually.
