Question about Trichomes

OK so I have been searching and I only found one answer but I don't trust the source so I am looking for a definitive answer. I still have 1 outdoor plant that when looking through microscope it has mostly cloudy trichs with maybe 20 percent amber, but there are trichs with no head that just look like spikes.
Is this because they haven't matured yet? or is it that they are degrading? I beleive the strain is a Sativa, it was from bagseed. Anyone know? Thanks for any and all help.
Also are there any strains that don't go all the way amber?

Would you trust fdd? Here is his idea of when to harvest.

i have the same looking trichs the look like spikes with no tip but im indoors.... i would let them go untill you have about 60% to 90% amber trichs.. read FDD's harvesting to early thread..

Thanks but that FDD tutorial really does not answer my question about spike looking trichomes. I know when I want to harvest, I just never came across trichomes that did not have the little ball on top. I am in Florida so I don't worry about temps as much as everyone else. When it gets to cold I bring them in.

I have the same thing. I get what you are saying. No one has answered it yet. Mine had heads. They were clear. Never cloudy and then lost heads and dissolved to nubs and spikes. Very minimal heads and amber just appearing but mostly only in the heads and not much of those at all

Like the trichomes were icicles and the sun melted them. They literally lost their heads.

Really? Amber is degraded thc, 60-90% is way to late imo. They will continue even when cut.

Maybe someone else can jump in but that seems very late to be cutting

The trich heads are not there because they broke off due to handling or old age. Ie they fell off giving what you see are spikes I assume.

Still wrong answer. Their shale has changed. Best way to describe is like when a tree is coated with ices and then the icicles melt away. Looks like melted ice and some look live me sharp long cat claws.
