Another drying question

I'm gonna look into it :)

Thanks mate, surprised myself let's hope its not beginners luck hahaha

I attached pics of the girly who's further behind :) see the difference! Knowing they both sprouted at same time! Defo something I've learnt on this run that autos are not exactly the same :)
All good dude looking good. Yeah you’ll find every grow even from same strain plants show different characteristics. Genetics aren’t as stable these days I find compared to 15 years ago.

I just dried my 2nd run, two plants, in the same 3x3 they flowered in. I'm in a house, upstairs bedroom. Ambient house temp is 18 - 20°C. RH is low, around 10-15 here.

In the tent, RH was between 45 and 65, mostly 50, and Temps between 18 and 23 °C. I only checked in 2 or 3 times a day.

I didn't use a smart controller, just a timer on a humidifier, running for 1 hour on lowest setting, then off for 4. I also ran a AC Infinity T4 Inline fan @ 60% 24/7.

I have 1 main stem left to trim and jar, but the dry was perfect, so just keep it in this range and you'll be fine. Also you don't have to trim it all at once. I started trimming at 7 days. It's a bit of work.

Also, I saw someone "bucket rinse" each stem after cutting to clean off dust and bugs or whatever else, so I did that too this time. I think it was @bk78

I actually soaked them for a couple minutes. Water was yellow and lots of dead plant matter removed. I think this helped with the dry as well. Definitely recommend!

Hey guys, so my portable ac unit idea went to shit lol, trying to duct the hot air out of this room is becoming a pain due to my style window and no where else to dump it.
As we are having days where 18c is the max, I thought I would try in the loft. I know its early but I cut down a popcorn bud, hung it in the loft. So far I have seen day temp is 21c humidity 47% and night time was 10c with 62% humidity.
Will this dry okay? Will night time equal out day time conditions?
Let me know your thoughts
Cheers

No, not 21c and 47% you want it cooler and more humidity 15/16c-60/55%rh, remember 60-60, 60% rh and 60f

The drying is arguably as important as the growing.

Even with my humidity I keep the dehumidifier (in winter) set to 70% with the hope it doesn't actually need to come on.
Best of luck!

Cheers! The problem I have is we are coming into summer and I'm struggling to get the correct environment even with a ac unit, dehumidifier and humidifier lol.
My loft is great at night but in the day it can exceed 21c. I can put ac in the loft but with no insulation up there I'm worried it won't cool it down enough

It's always a challenge with 4 season's trying to keep as best we can.
I've only grown/dried in higher humidity and lower temperatures so I can't offer any help/advice on your situation.

Hey dude, when drying, can you not keep the ac unit in the tent, zip it up, and duct out one of the intake holes in the tent? I know the ducting from the ac will be going into the room your drying in but it should be at least cooler in the tent then outside of the tent if that makes sense ?

That's actually a good idea, I think it will be battling itself but I think that may work! Cheers matey!

Oh and yeah day temp to night temp will kinda balance it out and slow things down,

it’s what I do in summer but I have the luxury of exhausting the heat out into the open. But I reckon if you got the ac on full blast it should defo cool down inside the tent, it may even increase humidity too, think you said you got a humidifier so maybe have that on as well if needed. You wanna shoot for 60% humidity but 50% is doable.

Yeah temps today got to 25c and humidity 48% but tonight will get to 11c and 63ish humidity like last night

So are you using the tent to dry in ? Or just hang it in the loft ?
So right now, I have the tent growing my two plants in my room, for testing purposes, I cut a popcorn nug and hung it freely in the loft, so no tent yet.
My future grows I will be using the tent in the loft.
Sorry for the confusion and hopefully this clears it up haha

Was thinking dude , doing it in the loft, I hear a lot of stories my way where the smell seeps through into neighbours loft, gaps and shit. Unless your in a detached.

Yeah man I'm mid terraced so that crossed my mind, I plant to hookup a carbon filter in my tent when it goes in the loft
