Very rarely when someone expresses an opinion or a belief publicly are they doing it for reasons other than that they wish to see what they already believe confirmed and validated. It's simply too much effort for the average consciousness to listen to a contrary opinion, let alone understand it or see it from a logical point of view without emotional bias, absorb the information and either be swayed in a different direction or keep your feet planted in the mud.

Which might lead one to wonder, why even bother put your opinion out there to be up for discussion if you are convinced of what you already believe and feel anyway? Just go get your own TV talk show or pundit radio show where you can surround yourself with effectively, everything that is you, you can be rude to people who disagree, and people who heckle you will get thrown out or taken off air.
