Gorilla Seeding

The last frost was a couple of days ago so I'm going to plant seeds this afternoon. I'm riding a mountain bike on the trails and will pull over here and there, scratch the soil, drop a few seeds, step on the planting > keep it moving.

There are many in the bag. Two/three layers.

I planted seeds everywhere along a 1 mile stretch. It took me about 2 hours. LOL

I love the idea Fam. Great way to plant trees for the environment. I had a similar idea with an old friend of mine since he accidently pollinated his whole tent and got hundreds of seeds.. But bridges burned and Now i see you're doing exactly what i wanted to do ! Keep it going and make your spot special. You might just create a land race if you have warm weather year round.. Did you sprout before planting or full on johnny appleseed action? Lol happy growing !

No frills. I planted on the hills, in the lows, some in mud, some in dry conditions.

Lot's of burned open areas out here from the fires just ready for new vegetative growth to take over.

I've done a little of this in the past. What I found was it pays to dig your hole well as you can't be working it after sprouting starts. Also it is worth the weight to pack in a little potting soil to put the seeds in. I did beds, and would make a small trench down the middle. Pour in half the potting soil, add your seeds, then add the rest of the soil. And having seeds with high germ rates is a must.

Had a ton of mex red hair seeds back in the 80s. We just tossed them out in a sandy river bed area we partied at. Next year there must have been 1000 plants some at 10 ft tall. A good year indeed.
