There is f all wrong with those plants. Should nutrients simply be a matter of each to their own. If he's growing with it and the plants are healthy who is anyone to tell him that he's wrong. Let's remember that none of us know everything about growing and we are all just jerking off our egos if we think we have the right to criticise others.
Woah bro, simmer down with the EGO... his plants are far from perfect and his strategy to getting there is questionable, let us not lead others down a dark path but bring them to the light so they can grow the good good and not the bammer mids.

Welcome. When you come to this site and make huge claims then show fox tailed N toxic plants everyone will challenge you on that. They’re not healthy that’s the point we’re trying to make.

My tip is to learn basic chemistry and plant biology and come back after a couple of hundreds of hours.

It's the manufacturing process that's important and what's not listed on the label. There's always small minute residues you don't want in traditional salt based fertilizer but the concentrations are very low and don't cause any concerns or problems.

Metals like lead and cadmium is often detectable in small amounts, that doesn't mean it's dangerous or anything, especially if used properly.
I'll pass on the couple hundred hours, but I truly appreciate an actual attempt at an answer. I suppose it comes down to the trust level in the industry cause nothing will last long if it doesn't pass a heavy metals screen by the state. That is, as long as your not cherry picking the states that don't do it. Some seemed so convinced after looking at the label of 19-4-23 that it was petroleum trash that I thought for sure there would be something that sticks out like a sore thumb on the label.

All I know is my first grow looked similar to this, nothing has ever come close to that shitty since. You send me a bag of this ancient 19-4-23 and I will do a run with only that front to back.

I am not getting at the effectiveness of 19-4-23. I am wanting to understand differences between synthetic fertilizers and what ingredients you should avoid. There were some comments specifically on the 19-4-23 after looking at the label but nothing specific. I can definitely understand judging it on quality vs quantity in pictures because I have seen some funky plants. I think it is due to the fact that it uses almost 30% of it's nitrogen from ammoniacal nitrogen, which can cause overgrowth.
