1 week seedlings turning yellow...

Day 8:
These two have been started in 100% pure coco... with Gaia green organic slow release fertilizer.

they are under a 150WLED light at 22in distance.

(As of this morning I’ve moved them to 17.5” as they seemed a little stretched)

Temps are at 26C, RH 45%

I’ve only watered them when they reached bone dry, so about every 2 days or so.

I also got 4 holes poked all the way to the bottom to increase oxygen/aeration. (I prolly should have added some perlite... will do on transplant tho)

what u guys think about the yellowing?

I think your light is too close even at 22in. I’d suggest raising the light to 28-30 if it’s a true 150watts, and let them grow into it.

Yes, it’s a true 150W. But aren’t they stretching too much?

I don’t think they’re stretching. It always works better to hang high and allow them to grow into the light. They look healthy and will be fine, I just think the light is too intense for how young they are.

Don't use organic amendments with coco. You're going to continue to scratch your head the entire grow wondering why it isn't working.

BTW While Mr. Canuck got me into growing his methods are were poor and so are the quality of his plants. I started trying to follow his method. It's a recipe for disaster. Fortunately I quickly learned, poured countless hours into research and now grow fantastic plants in coco... Without organic amendments.

No. He's a teacher spreading horrible growing techniques. 99.9% of information on YouTube shouldn't be used.

But his results are good... really good. Are they not? I did read about coco and organic amendments don’t go together but what if it’s a mix of coco and worm castings. Also, I read not to water to a runoff... I dunno.

Should be able to Use something like Roots Organics uprising or terp teas, bubble for 24 hours and pour over like a DTW system. Just won’t be able to automate it
