Now I am really confused
Spent 3 hours reading everything I could about root disease and how to stop or prevent it,,
From swimming pool additives, to the $1 shop bleach
What are you supposed to do
The hydro shops must sell some overpriced additive that is meant to prevent all this,,??

That would be hydroguard or UC roots, most common. If in Canada, bend over and get the lube for hydro guard, actually most bennies, pain in the ass to get up here.

stuff you just posted is a bennie it said, not sure which ones. I hear bad things about enzymes and dwc so I didn’t try that myself.

Yeah man, I just about tried enzymes but nobody I found was using them with any luck. I’m pretty much sold on peroxide after this last run, I didn’t have problems with UC roots either but that was on a really clean startup last time. I would def run like recharge if I was switching to coco or something other then rdwc.

OP I don’t really think there’s a “cure” as the product states. Are you having issues currently?

I tried to find that stuff but gave up, glad I didn’t waste my time. I know some guys here used or do use it but not sure how it stacks up to the basics.

see if you can get dutchmaster zone up your way. it was a mix of chlorine and copper (the copper was supposed to strip the roots of crap so the chlorine wouldn't have to work so hard)

Looking like a negative on that, a lot is not here simply because of labeling.
