Dehumidifier not working :/

Hi
I've always had really high RH leading to lots of bud rot. So I invested ina dehumidifier, this one to be exact:
I got this 2nd hand in good condition, I believe its a decent bit of kit. Except its not really working as I'd hoped - its set on 30%, my analogue hygrometer which I checked with the salt slurry in a bag test reads 50%, so there's a discrepancy there. The tent (60×60×180cm) is open during lights on so there isn't any venting/extraction going on, i don't know if that's a factor.
Any ideas?
Cheers!!

Someone getting rid of a dehumidifier is a red flag to me

Even if I sold my house I would leave mine behind

Not sure what you paid but mine was only like $150 brand new
I paid €70. Hadn't heard of that brand before but a quick look online tells me its decent quality, at least that's the impression I got.

I'd never buy a second hand dehuy or lend mine to anyone. Spores, hair, dirt, smoke, nasty bugs. Who the f knows whats in there and what they had in their house

I have 3 units 1 barley gets used ever. 1 is a backup and one runs constantly with a floor drain in the basement rh stays at 40% in this house.
Buy them on sale. If you can't afford 200bucks then growing indoors in the summer may not be for you

Ok cheers. Both the unit and a digital hygrometer say 30%, its my analogue reading 50%...ive tested this, like i put it in a tupaware box and it still didnt drop below 50. So its possible all is well and theres something wrong with the machanics in the analogue that it wont drop below 50...
