I’m my local hydro store they keep saying the maxibright 600w is the way to go but they want about £800 per unit.

I see someone online voted the Mars hydro ts 3000 as the best. You can get 10 units for about £3000 which is like a third of the price of maxi bright. (Also I grow in soil so just curious as to whether I can use it or is hydro just the name)

Meijiu and Kingbrite are highly rated and much cheaper than any other source. 7-8 day shipping for air express. If you're not in a hurry you can save yourself a ton of money on shipping by doing sea freight. My last order took 42 days but saved me $200 on air freight. Good luck.

I have a ts3000 very very happy with it has done great for my tent but if I had the money I would invest in a MIGRO ARRAY fully guaranteed for 3 whole years anything goes wrong within that time you send it back and get a full replacement no questions asked any company that has that sort of faith in their own product Shane who owns migro has a YouTube channel he tests lights for most manufacturers they send home their lights to test because they trust him to tell the truth

Just my 2 cents. At this time it appears that Samsung LM301H & lm301B chips and Meanwell drivers make the best set, take your time & shop around (for example, I got 1,100W of led's for about $1,250CDN), I also highly recommend a dimmer it makes life easier. Multiple boards are easier to hang and adjust than 1 or 2 big lights. From what I've read, 30-50w/sq ft is appropriate

I currently use hps and do ok. But I can’t see why a light would only work with hydro but as it has the name I just want to make sure before I spend a lot of money on stuff. I dont know why you feel the need to be sarcastic instead of just answering the question

Don't worry about those listings, they are using those words to try and get pot growers to buy their light. A light is a light and will be fine for any grow medium you choose. People assume that you don't have common sense because you ask a simple question when it really isn't your fault its the shitty marketing.

It wasn't meant to be sarcastic or insulting. Just matter of fact. You clearly have a lot more research to do into lighting before you make a purchase. At least I would if I was in your position. GL.

Hardly necessary though and that is fact, you've been around long enough to know that people are going to go head first into a brick wall and then come here for answers that they never take the advice of or half ass but this isn't one of those it was a simple question about a different type of light than the old school growers used to use so it does indeed make sense.

If he's willing to drop £3000 on lights without doing his own research and just based on comments from strangers more power to him. As I said, personally if I was dropping that much money I'd like to have an idea of what I was even buying.
