hi all so I wanna take some cuttings last week or so but had to get some rooting hormones. I was wondering if promix root stim rooting powder will work for the cuts obviously i know there’s way better stuff it’s just not available where I can get things I only have HomeHardware and a nursery. The nursery is closed for awhile and has been. So I’m limited to what I can get from HH. This is the only stuff they sell other the. A liquid mix you dip
The whole cut in. Just wondering if it will work the same. Can’t find a lot bout it. And cannabis

It should work, I’ve done it by just planting it in soil or putting it in water with no hormones it roots but takes a little longer.

It depends. In my setup in aero cloners I can get roots without any gel or what not in like 7 days with gel 4 days. But I need fast turnaround times as I do 200-600 clones a weeks sometimes. All depends on other growers needs and my own. @Grobogrow honey(raw honey) has plenty of vitamins and some iron and other minerals that actually can help the clones root. If you dip the cut in honey when kelp it will increase rooting time for most guys.

This is truly everywhere. And indefinite shelf life. My go to. A bit cheaper to boot.

And do you know how many gardeners despise that method for the damaged specimens we end up with? Buy and grow one. Rooting powders or gels are faster and cheaper. No shoplifting involved.

I've tried, water, aloe, honey and hormones side by side. Powder rules as learned.

For me

No hormones a full week to 10 days in soil pods solid week in rockwool

Root boost and clonex I see the exact same numbers. 4-5 days times.

My sugar sweetener for my best percentage is superthrive. Drop a cup. I'll soak my cuts for 10 min and give my medium a soak in same solution and that's it. 5 days 100% of the time. Just like flower. I think the same way for clones. Patience.

This is what I used. When I cut my clippings I put them into a cup of fresh water. Each clipping I cut the leaves all the way up to the top nodes and left 2 fan leaves and just the top node. I cut the stem at one of the lower nodes at a 45 degree angle and placed the stem into a freshly opened bottle of water. Every day I switched out the water and left the plants under a 13w fluorescent light bulb. About 2 weeks later I had roots showing! You don’t need any chemicals or anything to make clones

I don’t want to grow the clones out, well not right now I just took a cutting from each so I can flip to check plant sex. Can I just put the cuttings under 12/12 and will they show signs of sex or do need to root first then flip

I often do the same thing with suspected keeper plants. The cuttings have to root first before they can be throw into 12/12 to show sex.

I've used many different cloning products over the years. I've found that the cheap MiracleGro Fast Root works as well as any of the fancy ones out there for a fraction of the cost.

They all contain the same ingredient just at different strengths. IBA/Indole butyric acid is the active ingredient. You can even make your own if you want. Indole butyric acid can be purchased on its own. It's a simple process to mix it to whatever percentage you want. I've done it. But since the MiracleGro is so cheap I don't bother with it anymore.

Get it. It will work just fine. It's 0.1% IBA which is the ingredient that matters. Some of the other brands throw stuff like vitamins and other things in but the IBA is what matters. That other stuff is just tossed in so they can list it on the label and make some people think it's better than the cheap MiracleGro powder found at Home Depot for $5. Some brands cost more but they don't make clones root any better.
