Hey so I’m on my 2nd indoor run with these seeds I got from Growers Choice. Grape Ape, Critical Kush (“bonus seeds”), gelato. I am looking for some much needed advice, tips, constructive criticism, wisdom…..
History-
1st run I kept em short and sweet. The flower came out great and after curing it smelt/tasted better every time I opened the humidors up through 2-3 months after harvest, 7.5oz yield. Those 4 plants only stood about 12” max from tip of cola to soil and was little cuties .
This grow I vegged longer with hopes of increasing my yield and that’s basically it!
This Grow
Seedlings busted through the topsoil April 4th
Flipped to 12/12 May 29th
My Setup
-Closet, 4’x7’ with a slanted ceiling 6.5’ at its highest, 4.5’ at its lowest point.
-10 gal “equivalent” Smart Pots
- YGrow 1500w (qty 4)
-FFOF
-PH Down my TW to about 6.8
-Hand watered daily
-Up potted twice
Plant 1 Critical Kush

Plant 2 Gelato (LST Spiraled around container )

Plant 3 Gelato (topped)

Plant 4 Grape Ape (Topped)

Lights make the new growth look yellower from the lights. Plant 2 has a better pic with the lights kinda blocked so u can see some actual green. Can add other pics with lights off if needed.. Thanks in advance for any help y’all’s!!

Wow that's a pretty nasty case of chlorosis you've got going on. Why are you watering every day? Soil doesn't need to be watered daily. What is your fertilizer regimen? They look starved for basic nutrients particularly nitrogen and calcium. What's the actual power draw on each light? I'm wondering if you have a case of light bleach combined with your nutrient problem.

Edit: Those brown necrotic spots are probably K deficiency. You really gotta get your fertilizer situation under control dude.

So yer not feeding them?
Nothing other than what’s already in the dirt on this one. I transplanted to these final pots on may 16th I thought that this soil had enough nutes for awhile. This started to happen awhile back and I didn’t know what I had going on bc I’m a newb.
Didn’t want to over do so I’m thinking I under did?
I used King Kola on the 1st grow every 3rd water. Not sure if that’s good or not just what I had available.
I water every day, to every other day, to keep the soil moist. I’m basically a automated dripper
I have real low RH in my room and the smart pots dry out fast.

Ya

Um

They are starving and wayyyyyyyy over watered

So there's that
I will definitely start feeding them. The pots are very light tho. I don’t actually water every day sometimes I do. If I don’t water every day to every other day they droop. Is from be starved and having no extra energy?

Not sure I’ll have to check. Hate myself for buying these tho. Could’ve built a way cooler one and now it’s on hold until I get some more materials.
I definitely gotta figure it out man. Definitely loving the input

You need to water correctly

Lift dry pot, judge weight
Water till 10-20% runnoff, lift pot, judge weight

Then u know when to water

Easy peasy
Thanks man. I definitely didn’t have much run off each time I water so… bang bang. Along with the king Kola I already have would yas recommend anything else or instead?

If those are 3 gallon pots there's no chance of them going dry in 24 hours. Every other day makes sense if they need it. You definitely want to add a balanced fertilizer around 700ppm. They should lush up in a few days afterwards. Otherwise nice looking flowers there.

Without having proper nutrition I really can't say if you have a light bleach issue. I don't see any crunchy edges or anything like that so I'm leaning towards a straight nutrient issue. Simple fix. You've got a great looking grow there. You just gotta remember to feed those girls :)

Judging by the size of your flowers it looks like the lights are doing what they're supposed to do so it's not a total loss. Most of us have bought a piece of grow equipment we regretted down the road. The most important thing to remember is that's a learning experience. You'll more carefully choose how to approach your next light upgrade. One day at a time.

If they're in saucers (I sure hope they are) water to plenty of run off. That way they continue to drink from the water in the saucer. That will extend your water intervals by a day at least. Possibly 2. Make it rain on those girls dude. I always run a feed, water, water, feed regimen on my soil plants. They only need plant food once every 1.5-2 weeks or so. Plain water the rest of the time.

If they're 5 gallons then you shouldn't have to water more than once every 3 days. If I can't pick a bucket up with 1 hand it's not ready for water. Simple as that. This may not be a good system depending on your arm strength, but you get the point :)

Over watering is just as bad as under watering. Once you get a good feel for it you're good to go. I remember loving a few plants to death when I first started growing. Watered those girls every day. Right into the grave.
