huge problem with noob spider mite problems is spraying the insecticide in direct light...DONT DO THIS!!!!if in sunlight or HID or LED it will cause the plant to wilt..if u read most spider mite killing sprays it says use out of direct light and preferrably in the morn or at night...i just fucked over about 5 plants by spraying in the sun...not smart...

Bull<Sh*t that aint true

you obviously have no idea what you are talking about

i bought 10 when i had the issue, it will kill alot of shit, the spidermite it will not.

maybe inhibit the pest desire to come in however it WILL NOT rid of of spidermites.

i still hang them in my rooms for moths and other flying pests like misquito's that are attracted to my co2

nothing personal buddy but your suggestion WILL NOT WORK

Been there done that!

worked for me on several occasions, but to each his own i guess

using them the first time i monitored the progress with a magnifying glass. after 3 days all mites were dead. the little ones died as they were emerging from their eggs, actually there were some that were trying to walk and having convulsions

this sounds like some of the most inexperienced advice i have ever heard. do not spray them down with water? LOL remember plants cant be sprayed with water, i could go on but there is really no point
LOL ok buddy, i dont need to go into my experience, i can almost guarantee ive got a hell of a lot more than you could even imagine. have you even read this thread? i went through hell with these last mites, and this was nowhere close to my first encounter with them. let me read your pedigree

yes plants can be sprayed with water, not when you have 2 weeks left on a harvest and your buds have reached size, and start to fill in, spraying them with water only invites mold to come in and devastate your yield and make it unhealthy and unsmokeable. this isnt me talking this is experts with lifetimes of growing that say this.. once you reach week 6 anything you put on your buds will be there in the end.... and you are recomending this guy to spray orange crap, pyrtehims, and water on his plants up till harvest? he will be lucky if he doesnt die after smoking that garbage. id rather smoke mites.

also the products you recomended are what ppl using cfls and one or two plants would do to treat their plants, you think a no pest strip is going to stop an infestation when you have 50+plants and thousands of mites? give me a break.

if you wanna take this clowns advice then go ahead but if i were you, i would listen to people who know what they are talking about and get info from expert growers and not info that was pulled out of their ass.

the thing is its my only plant and the buds look so fucking good i just cant kill it there has to be some way to save her i have seen zero webs and no holes in my leaves so maybe i could make it all the way through

1 plant

Easy

wipe every leaf every day with moist clean wash cloth. Inspect everywhere and remove all endoskeltons, and eggs you can see.
keep the population as low as possible.

make sure you end the cycle before restarting your next one.

One plant is manageable. keep them from harming your leaves, you need every one

ya one plant you can take care of pretty easily, like abudsmoker said, but dont go sprayin crap on your plants and inviting bad tastes and mold to take over your shit, then you will be wishing you had mites instead

i have this it says can be sprayed on fruit and veggies up tot he day of harvest would this work Houseplant and Garden Insect Spray | Schultz | Walgreens

that stuff is great, it places a residue all over your plants and bud and help condition the mites skin soft n smooth.

these are all really feel good treatments. keeping the plant healthy is the first and best defence from the mite.

the mites soon will not even mind this treatment.

PS it DOESNT kill the eggs

your getting close to a quote in my signature, seriously your mites seem weak, we are talking about 2 spot spidermite, hell wait till you get red mites...........

used 2 no pest strips in room with 2 4x8 tables 40+ plants per table,

most people i expect would control the humidity in the room... i guess you havent got to that chapter in the book yet

Yes 2 spot spidermites, believe me ive done all the research, had probably 15 mite infestations at 7 or 8 different locations. they have always been the 2 spotted ones with a few red ones mixed in.

a pest strip is like stated before a feel good treatment.. if you think it really will keep them away or kill them if you have an infestation you are KIDDING yourself.

and what in the hell are you talking about controlling the humidity? do you honestly think that will do anything to an infestation? you can slow them down or speed them up but humidity is not going to kill them. you need to finish up the book before you try to give people advice on shit you have no idea about

uh yeah humidity controls mold, you will probably read about it when you get to chapter 2.

you dont even know how the no pest strips work do you?

umm yes i do, and i know they arent the miracle you think they are.. i like how your "first dealings with spidermites" was in January of this year, posted on this forums and asking about high humidity if it will hurt your plants or not.

yes certain levels of humidity can help prevent mold, but without proper circulation, you will have stagnant air and mold can still grow, plus if you are spraying your plants with water the ambient air may be xx% but since you are giving DIRECT moisture to your plants the humidity in/around the plant can be much much higher.. thus giving mold a better chance of survival! wow what a novel idea!!

second, yes i know how your magical strips work, do you? if so please i beg you explain how they will erradicate a spider mite? i am all eyes.

maybe you should quit acting like youve read the book when youve only seen the chapter highlights. im not claiming i know everything about growing or pests, im far from it but i do know

you are wrong
you dont have the answers, so quit giving bad advice
you dont know what your talking about so quit trying
you are not going to convince me or anyone else otherwise of either point so you are wasting your time.

ill be waiting

yea i do my research before i post on topics, and people so i can efficiently sort through the bullshit. and if you werent growing in jan. i wonder why you were asking for advice, i thought you had all the answers? guess not.

and i encourage everyone to do the research on these strips, you might find out you will probably be hurting yourself more than the insects.

and no im not here to make friends. and i dont need people to get my back to know i am right. i let the scientific research, and real world application do that for me.

im here to learn things i do not know about and give others good advice on topics i am familiar with, in order to help everyone grow the best weed possible, and refute clowns like you at the same time who act like they know whats up.

i have done both of those things in this thread. mission accomplished

and no you cant argue with stupid, your not smart enough.

p.s. and i noticed you edited your post after going back through my old posts (hmm.. who was a joke?) and to answer you my first vertical grow was this year correct. and my first grow journal correct. does my setup look like someone growing for the first time? just FYI I am in my early 20s , and growing is in my family, i have been learning growing since i was about 16 years old and perpetually growing since i was about 18, so no this is not my first rodeo. nice try tho keep swingin maybe you will hit something one of these days.

fuck so all i can do is wipe off every single leaf i got like 100 fucking leaves lol anything else
id say wipe em off carefully, leaves and stems with pure water. this will help knock off a lot of the webs and adults.
then go back with a qtip with soapy water and run it down the middle veins of each leaf because it will help pick up the eggs better and around the veins is where they really like to lay the eggs. they should be pretty well knocked out and give your plant a chance to finish

fuck this suck so bad and if i didnt take my plant out of my grow area ( allmost got busted lol) i would have never found out so i wonder whats gonna happen in the next few weeks. i all ready wiped down al the leaves on the outside of the plant its nearly impossible to get down near the stem. so i cant spray anything on my plant that wont hurt my buds??
