Drying in 70 degrees & 50% R.H.

This is going to be my 1st Harvest. It's Blue Dream. I can only get my dry room down to 69 or 70 degrees. My Humidity stays around 50 in my neck of the woods. I've been studying & watching YouTube. Lol. I sure dont want to screw up the final product. So I want to do a slow dry. As slow as possible with my conditions. Would you (expiereced growers only please) hang the whole plant & just make sure to keep buds separated a bit? Up to 14 days (until branches snap). *I've been warned against a drying rack (which I already bought. Lol) . Anyhoo, newbie here & I've really been enjoying the community here. Any advice is much appreciated. *Pic attached but I still have 3 weeks to go (maaaaybe).

Hang the whole plant after trimming off the big fan leaves. make sure you have some type of air circulation but don't Point anything on the plants directly. at that relative humidity and temperature you probably will not need 14 days should only need 8-10 based on the size of your buds

Great advice. Thank you man. I will have a fan circulating the air underneath them.. but try & make sure not blowing on them. *Also, if you dont mind me picking your brain. Once they are dry. & I've read to make sure they are dry before mason jarring. I bought the bigger 1.9L Wide mouth jars. For I do have a gee BIG buds. My question is do you use those Boveda packs? And when do you put them in there? Only IF needed? Like if R.H. is still too off.. & are they not needed if things are sitting good levels already. Or do you need them to keep RH at that right level & just put in jar after a week or so? I know. I know. I should research them more. Thanks for the advice again.

Definitely think you have more like 4-6 weeks them buds still look like they should fill up a lot they're very airy atm please let me know what the blue dream is like was looking at growing it in the future

Right on. Yea, I'm winging it. I'm on week 10.. & not many Amber's yet. The big buds are actually not airy. They are pretty solid. Although I understand your point. I think I stunted them for a few weeks too, with a Calcium/ Potassium issue. Hopefully I'm back on track & they finish well. & Can do. Thanks.

I personally don't like to use Boveda packs until the relative humidity in the jars is at 60% I found that they can affect terpene profiles before this point but that is just my experience and opinion. And definitely don't harvest those early. If necessary keep posting pics until some of the gurus on here tell you they are ready to chop

Okay. So once close to the right mark, put the packs in to keep steady at that level. Got it. I appreciate your feedback. & yes, for sure. After my last scare, I definitely dont want to do that. & Yea buddy. I'll post more before I chop. I like the advice & feedback from experienced growers. Cheers!

That's your best bet of controlling how quickly it dries out, so you can easily stay in the cure range without just shooting past it and ending up with what smells like hay in the jar.

I use some sodium chloride bags to adjust RH in place(s) by a few degrees. Granted it's not much but it is natural and in this situation can work in spades for those last couple percents! Buy a big bag from the hardware store and essentially how much you use will dictate the amount of RH reduction you will want. 5 gal bucket with holes & add salt, empty when needed, and repeat. Cheers!

How much humidity can you take out of the tent using these do you think you could make loads of small ones I only ask cos I live in UK and it's always humid here

I have yet to try the 5 gal buckets, but utilizing the half cup or cup ones you can buy that are branded (expensive), I've noticed a drop in humidity for sure. I have one scattered every 20-30 ft and for less than month's time it's collected half cup water easy for each one. Currently with 4 now in a 1300 sqft basement. Now, this isn't an instant or drastic reduction. This only works if you're looking to dial anything in or the dehumidifiers need some assistance I find. Although the moar salt, definitely more reduction. I would just get to experimenting, see what you come up with and post some results for us =)

Running a 5x5 tent I'd say no more than 3-5% with a 5 gal, and if you need more, at that point you might as well get a dehumidifier haha
