Is anyone a member of Katsubluebird monthly email? He mentioned how everyone hyped the hell out of GP and now he put other stuff on the back burner to make a bunch of GP crosses. It sounded to me like he hadn’t even really fucked with it he was just having it forced on him to stay current.
I’m sure he’ll make some magic with them but I could care less about the current hype

I think its the Y Griega (the Y) that makes it a standout, great tasty sativa terps, also found in "the fly" strain.

It's a current hype strain, I have a few pack of crosses of it, have one from lit farms- cherry payton- gary payton x cherry cheesecake. Basically a company with a lot of money backed behind it teamed up with another breeder to create the gary payton- that's why you're probably seeing or hearing about it s lot. Im must say, of all the current hype strains I've heard very good things about the gary payton- can't wait to grow some.

If you like cookies/gelato/og its like the perfect fusion of the 3. It grows somewhere between cookies and gelato with the yield and structure of the two. The smell has a strong og presence, definitely a lot of gas. With some cookie/gelato skunk funk mixed in there. It smokes pretty strong and has great flavor that translates. I love everything about the plant, but theres no doubt its wayyyy overhyped just like the Runtz... and now that more people are getting the cut I expect every seed maker to have some form of cross with it.

I feel like it has more of a sattie buzz but most grows like a straight up indy which also is a plus for a lot of people. The same old gelato/cookie crosses can get boring after a while, I love them but can find them similar. That why I like to run crosses of certain strains, you can find some really unique pheno in packs. Other big hype strains right now are cheetah piss, project 4516, and the soap

Medical Seeds is the only one with Y Griega. I just wonder if the Y they refer to being in GP is something different but what sativa cuts are going around called Y?

I don't think its that, a buddy of mine has tried "The Y" or "Y Life" and they said it reminded them of what a cross of Gorilla Glue and OGKB might come out like. It looked somewhat like that as well. I doubt either of those are in the genetics but something like that seems a lot more likely than it having Amnesia and Kali Mist in it. There are no hazy terps at all in the Gary.

I don't think the Y has hazy terps tho. Can't comment 1st hand but from reviews say citrus, earthy, pine on exhale. I know they say GP is pine. Also when I grew Medical Seeds Prozack (Lavender x Kush) I got an insane sativa pheno that I would love to have again. If they hunted packs of Y Griega they might of got something really nice to make the cross with.
At same time I swore I read the Y was a cookie strain but can't find where I read that

Yeah I guess its possible, got to say I would be pretty surprised if that were it but you never know.
I did see that "Cookiefam" submitted a sample of the YLIFE to Phylos and all its relatives were the usual cookie type strains. Not sure how much I'd trust anything from Phylos but it is interesting. Here's a link:
