I don’t know much about led chips, but I’ve been looking for fixtures with the 301b/h. I think the chips they use are 301z. Not sure how much difference that would be. I’m not sure what chips the ion 720, GC 720 or loriflux uses. I know a lot of people at my local store been snatching up the loriflux 8 blades and coming back for more with great reviews. But that could mostly be because the price is good and since we are in Michigan and they are local the supply is easier to get than some other fixtures.
As far as my barn lights go, I don’t think many street lights are double ended. And the yield from them is just easy to get. As far as electric use goes, I don’t much mind the cost to run them when they pumping out 3lb per light. The main reason I’m considering switching is air conditioning, the mini splits just have a hard time keeping up with the double ended lights. So it’s drop 10k on ac or buy leds.
I would go with the LEDs there too! Lol
I'm no expert on diodes myself, I'd lean on CCFC as they definitely know the science and can put it to the test. Both lights received really good reviews and you'd be set with either. I do like the new kid on the block though because I know a hungry company who is keeping end users in mind while they innovate and grow. I was personally impressed with the EZ8 when I saw stats on the surface and requested specs from the MFR. They answered all my questions and were happy to do so. I have a Fluence light by Osram, the Spydr 2P and wanted to see how it compared in a grow. I'm hoping to have this going as soon as I harvest in a few more weeks so I have the space for a dual grow! I'll let you know how she goes if you're interested!
Also, just from the CCFC video, they mentioned the diodes in the EZ8 are one step below the highest grade of diode available. PAR maps are arguably (wait for it).... on par with each other! I like that the new company looked at all the science available, saw what was working, what wasn't and immediately put out an extremely high quality light that is competing with Fluence, Mars Hydro and all the other well known big boys. If this is what they are after 1 year, where will they be in a few more...
