From Drying to Curing Question

My zkittelz auto has been hanging for 4 days with RH avg 65% and temp 76F-83F range. The chlorophyll smell has only a very small hint of smell left. My branches when I bend them do snap, however its not a clean break of the stem. You literally hear the snap but the branch doesn't break away. I've lost 76% of my weight at hanging vs current wait.

Is now the time to cure? I understand we don't want it 100% dry at start of curing. This is my first grow. Appreciate any guidence from experienced growers, please don't guess and post an answer if you are not certain. Thanks ladies n gents

Sounds like you've dried way too fast between 10-14 days is best that's probably why you've lost so much weight 76% is a lot of weight to lose and four days is way too quick good luck with the rest hope you at least get some smokeable product that doesn't taste too bad

Yeah I agree I was hoping for 7-10 day before curing to avoid fast drying, I even waiting for dry trim to drag out dry time. But I'm afraid my ability to maintain that perfect atmosphere is a challenge for me atm. Thanks for your feedback.

Yeah as @Jules1976 said definatly dried to fast.
The stem snapping that way is perfect as you don't want it to dry to snap clean in half. You want to hear the snap but not break the skin. That way you know there is still a small bit of moisture left.

I chopped on Monday and they still have a good week left on the dry if the weather stays cool.

If you wet trim or dry trim makes a massive difference.

If wet trimming it will dry out allot faster as there is less water to pull from them.

Hanging the whole plant without trimming or only taking big fan leaves and then dry trimming will allow the plant to dry out slower.

Lots of people will swear by 1 method and say the other is wrong but it's realy about what works for you and your environment.

Out of mine at the moment I've completely wet trimmed 2 of my plants and hung in nets. 2 I've wet trimmed but left in the branch and the other 4 I've just chopped the main stalk and hung.
The weather has been high 30s last week and around 15 this week so not putting all my eggs In The 1 basket.

At that temp they were probably snapping early day 3....you gotta bring that temp way down man. Get after that cardboard box method, it will save the day. I add frozen water bottles to the bottom and hang a wet rag inside to increase humidity... where I live it's 110+ and single digit humidity when I was drying last week. It will give you an 8-10day dry easy with temps in the 60s and humidity around 55%

that temp was way to high its alright its your first grow heres my advice squeeze a bud if it bounces back its ready for the jars and never ever ever waste your time weighing anything until its clean and jarred up for at least a week but congrats on even getting to harvest on your first try
