It was actually harvested in the 70s and 80s sold for smoking don’t think it has a high thc but it will give you a buzz

Nice. I’d love to find a giant wild patch. Looks like a cool structure. Where are you located?

All modern cultivars come from “free weed”. Maybe you have a cool land race here. Take some cuts bring em inside if your bored! Who knows could be the next big thing.

If I ever came across a "wild" patch like this, my first thought would be "how "wild" is it?"
Then I'd be looking for dudes w AK's.

Hemp grows wild all over the place. It was planted across the United States decades ago for it's fiber. Chances are that's what that is. I'd still take some clones to make seeds from it just because. That might contain high levels of CBD. It's doubtful it would have any decent amount of THC.

I’ve had quite a few people from the Midwest say there’s ditch weed all over. Apparently the only time people use it is to rip off kids.

Southeast Nebraska ,Northeast Kansas,Southwest Iowa Northwest Missouri all have it growing wild. I don’t think anyone would care if you pick it except the cops

No it’s not very popular most of it is killed by weed killer when farmers spray. Just drive down any country road you will find it .

Great source of CBD I'd assume. We have some weird hemp fields. Massive ass fields. Father in law snagged a branch filled ripe with seeds. Mother in law Been growing and making CBD gummies
