Asking for yields is going to get you either nowhere or clowned on as it is the most common question that people can't accurately answer.

The reason is that there are so many factors that it's impossible to say. You could do everything the absolute perfect way and get dramatically different results strain to strain.

Ideally, you want 30-40 watts of high-quality led per square foot. Here you have right around 25, not ideal, but also not terrible.

If you do everything correctly you can expect a minimum of around 0.5 grams per watt or on the high end around 1.5-2 grams per watt.

Assuming you have an decent yielding strain and everything is done mostly correctly you could expect around 1 gram per watt. Around 100 grams on a good harvest. So around 4 ounces.

It would easily be possible to mess things up and get 0.5 grams per watt or less, ending you up with less than 50 grams. It would also be quite possible to get 1.5 grams per watt and get 150 grams total or around 5.5 ounces.

Long story short there are too many factors to give you any sort of realistic yield.

Well, in Spider's listing they say 2.5g/watt so surely that must be true.

No, but on a serious note, as Ben said, your yield will depend on lots of factors that differ from grower to grower. A beginner grower can't possibly master all aspects of growing that a seasoned grower has learned, which will be reflected in the yield.

I just got a couple of these today, vegging some seedlings under one, but I'll veg and flower under 2 of these 1000D's and a 200w 3k cob light I have. I'm in a 4x4 though. I may add an additional 150w of cob light I have to total 550w; 35w/sq ft. Just depends how many girls I end up having.

If just in a 2x2 I'd probably go with 2 of these. Use one for first 3 weeks or so, then add the 2nd till the end of cycle.

I just ordered one, too, and I was hoping to see more responses on what a grow with just one of these is like.
I usually do greenhouse/outdoor (with supplemental light), but want to try flowering a plant with just one of these (already a healthily vegged plant) in a closet where I don’t have to mess with tenting. May add a couple smaller, bulb-lights...
Was hoping to piggy-back on your thread instead of starting a new one.
Hasn’t been long, but how does yours look so far?

Anyone reading this have pics of a plant under a prolonged single-SF1000D grow?

You make a good point about variables and yield but either your math is off or I’m just really confused.
1 sf-1000D = ~25w
Let’s say: 1 gram = 1 watt
25g then would hopefully come from the 25w sf-1000d...
25g = not quite one 1/8th of an ounce.

Where am I not following you?

I did flower a nicely vegged plant under numerous strung together weak LEDs once, in a closet and got about 1.25oz.

Any info on it? is it like a b grade sf-1000 or the same panel just cheaper driver and no dimmer. Looks pretty much a sf-1000 to me so then you could just get on cocoforcanabis and go off the sf-1000 stats. I dont know if this is a thread ripping on sf or what, i own one and it makes a nice veg light, because i run a 500mm x 900mm x 1600mm grow space yer it does do a good job once you drop it down to 12". All these sumsung LED lovers though tik me off, to me the best bang for buck is the mars ts series. I can't comment over the 300watt range but anything under mars hands down.

OP: If its a sf-1000 bud you will be fine and going by the led count it is, personally i would go a mars ts-1000

real stats here https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/grow-light-guide/spider-farmer-sf-1000-field-test-review/ migro does the video's

now the sf-1000 has 218 leds draws 97 <==== ok build all the good stuff, no support above HLG for par though not much
mars ts-1000 has 342 leds draws 147w <=== ok build best bang for buck uses epistar but rapes all for dead at this price point par wise
HLG 100 V2 has only 176 leds 95w <== worest bang for buck but best quality and now support plus all the good stuff

If you can get the HLG for the same price as the sf and must buy American then i would opt for it, if you want something to flower hard with get the ts-1000. If you like i can get you par figures with korna just roughly and post back, but 850 on the par meter your looking at 11" as soon as i leave from directly under that light it dips off quick and goes down to nearly 300par just 5" off to the side. So yer for flowering your looking at a 1.3ft x 1.3ft space. Just jump on a mars ts-1000 unless your dead set on this light or have no cooling for your 2x2ft and if you stick 2 ts-1000 side by side you have a tsl-2000 well in led count power and well yer if you know what those baby's do on a budget, upgrade to 4 ts-1000 in a 5ftx5ft. Not selling there shit but ive being on that budget train and owns these lights. The viper p-1500 is another choice but meh the mars par map rapes it.

BTW we should all be buying HLG to support America yes it a premium but atleast your supporting your country by making jobs and keeping the money in there.

I’m not the OP of course, but thanks so much for the informative response.
I wanted an affordable light in terms of initial cost and electricity, and came across a chart someone posted here with the stats of probably 20 or so popular lights.
I got the SF1000D because I saw the SF1000 listed there. Mars Hydro was my next choice but went for the SF because the stats were similar but the price of SF was much cheaper.
If I had read your point on American-made I may have spent the extra. Do they use Amazon to ship? I avoid that company- but that’s a topic for another thread.
Got my SF1000D through ebay for 87.99USD + free shipping.
Should be here tomorrow!
Thanks old_fart_stoner for the thread and 2stroke for the info.

Sorry corrected the led count for the mars and sf-1000 as you can see the mars is a 150w with over 1/3rd more leds

Yep for that price you cant go wrong, btw note my corrections here soz stoned when posted, and yes HLG do have a store on there. I beleive in keeping Jobs and money in the US, why its not all made in the USA they are based there. But lol i wouldn't knock back a sf-1000 for that price what a nice buy.

In my defense you got the math wrong and also said 25g was less than 1/8th ounce. Lots of mistakes in 1 post...
I was all over the place that morning. Math- it’s not for breakfast.
All good. Still appreciate the explanation, now that I grok, haha.

How’s things going with this light for you?

I just finished a grow in a 2x2x5 with the SF-1000 and it turned out well. There were 5 Blueberry strain in 2 gallon pots flowered at around 9-10" tall. They completely filled the tent. Ultimately I got 88 grams. Interesting, I did have to supercrop one of them since it was getting too high and it yielded 7 grams more than the other 4. Also, I had the light way too close (8 inches) and ran into some foxtailing issues but the quality was great. I could have gotten the light about 6-7 inches higher but wasn't aware of the issues of having it so close since it had very little heat.

Next run will be 1 plant in a 5 gallon pot toping twice and doing LST.

This is 3 weeks into flower. I seem to have lost the pics from later but it was pretty cool.

It’s a good light. Only used it for supplemental (to the the sun) lighting to give my clones a longer “fuller” daytime in an outside night-tented (against rain/dew) setting, and a greenhouse.
It did survive a night being on in a light but consistent nighttime rain, when I forgot to tent my girls in!
Very bright- wear eye protection, and keep at least a foot and a half, probably two feet from your plants.
