in my mind I wouldn't get a 1000w led, I would a for like 800-500 watt led. The good ones that pull that much are what i think of as the equivalent. The bar style led lights are VERY big bigger than the blockbuster hoods. I'm personally looking into quantum boards as they are way smaller, I'm worried about penetration tho. I've seen bar style LEDs with ppfd that high that are legit I believe, are you checking that it's for the right canopy distance? So I think everyone has talked me into just spending the extra money and going LED from the start. Looking more into them though I can't get over how large most of the lights are compared to old school HPS light reflectors. Would I only be able to fit four of the big LED lights if I decide to go with a light like the "MIGRO ARAY 12 PRO'? When I use the grow light calculator it says the ideal light for my room is 13000 µmol, and it seems most even 1000w LED are only 2,000-2,200 usable PPF. So am I going to be maxing out around 8,000-9,000 PPF and missing out on a decent amount of light exposure ?
I'm trying to do something like this to so I'm excited to see what you do. I got my Quantum boards from Alibaba but they are the sideking SK-4000. 250 for each, but they offer 20 of them at 160$ a pop. that brings your lighting cost down to about 3k and you should be able to provide all of your flower and vegging lights
