First time grower here & I’ve run into a problem. About 2 or 3 days ago i noticed brown tips on some of the leaves on 1 of my plants and now it has progressed and resembles a burn.
temp is steady throught the day @ 76-80
Miracle grow potting soil
Bloomspect 600w grow light on a timer set for 18/6
Have done no feeding(nutes) whatsoever
Day 15 of grow
I really dont want to lose my plant so if anyone has any suggestions id greatly appreciate it.

The very newest growth looks pretty healthy. The miracle grow has a lot of nutes in it. Maybe a little nute burn. If you aren't already doing it, I recommend you measure the ph and ppm on your water and feed. Take care to not over water. When you water, saturate the soil. Pick up the pot to feel the weight. Don't water again until the pot is significantly lighter, not bone dry, but much lighter than when it's saturated.

I just use tap water. My tap water comes out around pH 8.0 and ppm 200. I ph down it with ascorbic acid vitamin C powder, but I used white vinegar in the past.

Looks more along the lines of excess how do i fix?
Miracle Gro uses those damn time release nutes and I've seen a lot of grows have problems like this and overall nute burn using their soils. Their timing can suck and they seem strong with fresh soil.

You can reduce the nute level with a partial flush to wash out the dissolved stuff but more might dissolve and the problem isn't fixed. It's about all you can do tho if it is an excess. Soak the pot until saturated and let it sit for a half hour to dissolve nutes then use the same amount of pHed water, around 6 - 6.5, as the volume of the pot. Takes a while so set it in a sink and keep adding water until it's done.

As to water I only use RO. My tap water comes out of a dugout on my property and is about 400ppm and pH 8+. Tap water can cause problems itself so with RO or distilled you don't have to worry if water is the problem. Hard water is the usual suspect when micronutrient deficiencies show up after minerals in the water have built up in the pots and push the pH too high.

Speaking of plants and watering I have some ladies awaiting my attentions. L8r

Those are signs of potassium deficiency. Since you are in pot big enough to avoid this early deficiency, you must doing something wrong. Tell more about your watering habits…

I usually water twice a day just lightly though using regular bottled water whenever the soil on top feels dry

That shouldn't be the cause of your issue but it's the wrong way to water pot plants. You should soak the whole pot then wait until the pot feels pretty light before soaking it again. There are already roots hitting the bottom of the pot so you want the water everywhere down there. The top dries fast thru evaporation so it doesn't take long for it to feel dry but there's no roots in that area so it doesn't need to be wet all the time and in fact is a good way to help fungus gnats get established.

Your soil could have used some more perlite by the looks of it. If you later up-pot to larger ones using that soil I'd add perlite to the new mix to loosen it up and let it breathe better. Generally you want about 30% perlite but watch out for MG perlite as they add nutes to some of that too.

I mainly use ProMix HP which has plenty of perlite and can be used right out of the bale as is but it has zero nutes so must be fed right from the sprout. It looks like this when you open the bale.

Why bottled, is you tap piss poor quality? I dunno what bottle, but it can be filtered and loaded with sodium as well, but let say it is not. In this stage you definitely do NOT soak the whole pot! But you want to get the water down the roots ofc. I do it like pick 4 small places on the surface and water only a small place untill water start to drop under. I use square pots so obviously its near the corners, but you can do just a circle around your plant (between stem and wall of the pot) and slowly pour water only in that circle untill you see runoff. Do not pour it in the midlle since that stage when you did that was when germinating. Once the plant get big enough, you follow advices given above. Good luck!
