The King Grows

Yeah, got it for $105 on a Canada day ssle. It's a completely bogus system. The way I look at it is like insurance. Just piece of mind that the law won't be an issue. I used cannabis growing canada. They were very fast.
I looked around and decided to go with license to grow, just started the process today

So I got bored at work tonight and thought I had better give Jeff Bezos some more money since I figured I currently have too much on hand.

Bought a Titan CO² regulator and a 6 stage RO machine with the UV-C light.

Although the RO machine is 6 stage, it does not have the mineralizing or alkaline filters. I figured those are more suited for drinking water not growing weed. The UV-C light on the other hand is a nice option. I am on treated town water so there shouldn't be anything growing in my water but for an extra $20 for a unit with UV-C as opposed to a unit that doesn't have UV-C, I figured why not. If it saves my autopots from plugging off a single time, it will have paid for itself.

Smart move my man! It's just one more thing you won't have to worry about now.

With what I am spending on new equipment, it would be heart breaking to lose it all over something that could have been easily avoided with a prescription.

Nutrients

So I gave up using liquid nutes awhile ago and started using Megacrop. I always had exceptional results with it. Before that I was using either Botanicare, Remo Nutrients and/or Advanced Nutrients.

Personally I love the Megacrop, my wife not so much. She prefers the liquid stuff. So long story short, I am trying to make this grow room "wife" friendly since she will be looking after it when I am at work and will be running a liquid fertilizer.

I have narrowed it down to either Green Planet Dual Fuel or Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur.

The Green Planet stuff is new to me, never used it before and don't know anyone thst has. The reason I am considering them is because they have a 5 part line up that was designed to be used specifically in the autopot system and not clog up the small lines as easily.

The 5 part line includes:
- Dual Fuel Part 1 & 2
- Vitathrive
- Rezin
- PK Spike

For the most part it looks complete. If I go this route, I might add a kelp for veg since I will probably be top watering during veg and like kelp for my roots. Also a cal mag and silicate would probably be added to this as they are generslly added to all my grows.

This system using ~80L/week would cost about $248.91. There would be leftovers but this is what I would need to spend to have enough for the grow.

Advanced nutrients is something I have used in the past. It has Ph perfect technology so my wife won't have to deal with that and anything she doesn't have to look after is definetly a plus.

Advanced will look something like this:
- Connoisseur Grow a&b
- Connoisseur Bloom a&b
- Overdrive
- Bud Factor X
- Big Bud

Samething as the dual fuel I will also run a kelp, cal mag and silicate.

The cost for a grow @ 80L per week would cost $241.61, surprisingly cheaper than Green Planet.

I am not gonna lie, the advanced it what I am most likely to use.

BTW, if I was to do the same grow with the megacrop it would only cost $25-30. But if the wife wsnts liquid, she gets liquid at ten times the cost. FML. :-?

Ok, first off, sorry for not posting much lately. I have only had 3 days off in the past month and nothing has really been happening with the grow room.......but that's about to change.

I got my RO machine, still needs to be installed, got my CO² regulator, still need tanks but I am going to rent those from the local welding gas supplier.

The last two things I need are the AC and dehumidifier. Well yesterday I got an email saying the AC I wanted was back in stock at Wayfair.ca and was on sale aswell. So I ordered that and I am glad I did because when I looked at the ad an hour later to read the specs again , it was showing sold out again.

I figure I can now start growing. I don't have a dehumidifier yet but the AC should have that covered for the seedling stage as there won't be much water transpiration from the 8 seedlings.

The hardest part of this grow will be deciding on whst strains I should grow. The only thing I have decided on for sure is thst since I have two reservoirs, I will be growing 4x sativa dominant ~10 week strains and 4x indica dominant ~8 week strains.

For the first grow in my new room, I will be going with one seed of each 10 and 9 week strains.

It will be a little more work but I want to see which strains appeal to me. The only one I have grown out before is the Fuel OG and I absolutely loved it.

I will also be taking two clones from each to potentially one day become mother plants.

I am hoping to end up with 2-4 strains (mother plants) I like and can continue growing.

Hi King. I realize that this post is a few weeks old so you might have it sorted already, but I have used both Connie and Duel Fuel. I have had good results with both. I have only used the base products and not the additives. For the base, at least in my area, the Duel Fuel is way cheaper than the Connie. So that would be my choice if I were to buy either of them again, which I probably will at one point. I have also used the Megacrop and it works great for me too. It is pain in the @ss to work with though so I can understand your wife's reluctance.

Thanks for stopping by Snowback.

I have decided to go with the Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur line. The reason I have decided on that particular brand is simplicity for the wife. I really like that she won't need to adjust the ph. One less thing for her to deal with and one less headache for me if she were to mess it up.

Woohoo my AC unit showed up two weeks early! I now have my dual hose 14k BTU Whynter unit. So happy whenever I collect another piece of the puzzle. All I need now is the Quest dehumidifier and the room will be pretty much ready to grow.

Ok, so I was going to use Advanced Nutrients Connoisseur line to grow because I liked the idea of my wife not having to deal with ph up and down.

After double checking my math, I realized how much this was going to cost me per grow and canceled that plan.

Since then I have reconsidered using green planet because of their price and also becaise they have a feed plan for autopots.

I ordered:
Dual Fuel Part 1 & 2 - Base Nutrient
Pro Cal - Cal Mag
Root Builder - Bacteria
Vitathrive - Vitamins and Minerals
Rezin - Terpene Enhancer
Pk Spike - Phosphorus and Potassium Booster
Plant Guard - Potassium Silicate

In all honesty you could get away with using just the base 1&2 and calmag. Thrn it would be super simple for your wife

You are absolutely right. Some of the best weed I have ever grown was grown with almost no nutrients.

However I think that my current set up with high ppfd levels, CO², autopots and optimizing vdp with the trolmaster control system is going to pushing the plants harder than any of the setups I have used in the past did..... or atleast I am hoping it will.
And because I feel that the grow room is going to be pushing them hard, if there ever was going to be a case to use addatives, it would be now.

As for the wife, she is just going to have to spend a couple more minutes measuring. I can only cut so many corners in this room.

Well I got my AC installed and did a heat test with my carbon scrubber running, a circulation fan and all three SF 4000's online at max power. I was able to run the system at 72⁰f. The temp outside was ~80⁰f.

I noticed that the exhaust hose was quite hot though so I will need to insulate that and then I think I will be able to go sub 70⁰f with the lights on...not that I have any plans to grow at sub 70⁰f temps but it is nice to know that I have the spare AC power if things were to heat up outside the grow room.

I also received my nutrients. Pretty happy to see everything coming together. I am definitely getting close but still have a couple things to do. The biggest thing being my dehumidifier. I was going to pop some seeds this past weekend but decided to wait until my dehumidifier is installed. It's driving me nuts to not be using this room yet. I am going to be a month behind the start date I set when I get the dehumidifier. It's just so dman expensive $1450 for the Quest 70.

Today I will go to the welding supply shop and complete a credit application so I can rent the bottles of CO² and get that done.

I will grow somtime soon and when I do I will be expecting amazing results......hopefully.

30.301 amps or lets just say 31 amps.

I need to run a seperate power line for the lights I think.

My room is running off a dedicated 30 amp system and if the lights, AC, dehumidifier, fans, carbon scrubber and control system are all running at maximum power at the same time, I will be at 31 amps.

If I supply the lights a dedicated 20 amp line, I could reduce the other breakers load by 11.361 amps. As far as I see it's probably my best and safest option.

I didn't want to do electrical but this will be a pretty simple project.

Got the AC instslled.

However when I originally called Trolmaster about which items I would need to run my AC, I was told to use a device that is apparently not working with my AC. It is a simple fix though, I just need to order a different AC device from Trolmaster.

As for the AC, with 3 lights on I managed to get temps down to 68⁰f after I wrapped the exhaust line. It was reintroducing a lot of heat into the room.

Installed the carbon filter and put my CO² line into it and placed it in the center of the grow area. Hopefully this disperses the CO² quickly and evenly across the room. I am also hoping this will take cooler air from the floor and help keep the lights from getting any hotter than they have to.

Here is the nutrients I will be using.

I forgot to order cal-mag, ordered that and the parts to fix my AC issue and light controls for the Trolmaster this morning.

Pretty much just sanapping random pics and playing the waiting game now.

I hate waiting, I just want to grow.
