Can I switch to 6/2 light schedule when in 18/6 now?

I’ve been reading a lot about 6/2 and want to try it but I’m unsure if I can just switch it after the dark period of the current 18/6? or should I ease into it kinda? maybe 9/3 and then 6/2 after?
I can always just wait until the next grow to try it out also, just figured I’d ask before just doing it…take care tho RIU fam and hope all is well

You can do anything you want with your plants. But why? Anyway my suggestion is go ahead and let us know how it works out.

What is the impetus of your decisions. a.k.a WHY.

What do you gain from this unusual pattern. Where do natural occurrences of this light schedule occur in nature?

They grow best under 24 hrs of light until they hit max DLI.

i just recently saw people raving about it and I’m skeptic as hell so do think I believe in it yet or anything…I just thought I’d see if it’s ok to just swap over and try since some swear by it….then again some swear by a lot of things…j

No.

My garden pleases me and there is no reason to experiment with new "just try it" experiments. .

You are not the first to grow weed and do not provide any data to support a 6/2 schedule.

With this type of input to the forums you will be a detriment to new growers trying for the first time.

Most likely too much light. They can only take in a certain amount, google DLI. If you wanted to max them out on 24/0 where they are getting too much light, raise lights or reduce output wattage.

Plants need a sleep cycle. During that sleep cycle they consume O2. It takes time to switch from waking too sleeping. My guess is they will get inadequate time to switch over and this will result in less growth.

Most likely too much light. They can only take in a certain amount, google DLI. If you wanted to max them out on 24/0 where they are getting too much light, raise lights or reduce output wattage.

Most likely, and it’s not even 1k yet (600MH) but 18/6 fixes it when I have multiple staged plants in there (just at different heights to equal 16”away from a/c hood) it’ll go to 1k when they hit 8” or so and then I was thinking 6/2 would help with heat issues if they arise. (My fan is set on as low as it can go for the 600 so I’m not terribly worried)

Well apparently it’s the same as 18/6 overall in a day and it gets enough…it’s similar to the gas latern idea of growing
