Does transplanting from a 0.5 gal pot straight to a 3 gal pit have any negative effect on the plant?

that's an autoflower trick, they're pissy about being repotted most of the time, so there's less chance of them getting slowed down if you plant them straight into their final container...but i guess you could do it to photoperiods....but i dunno why you would?

what medium are you growing in? if you're in soil, you want to water pretty heavy, then leave them alone till the pots start to get light, you should be able to stick your index finger into the soil up to the second knuckle and feel NO moisture before you water again. feed once, water with ph'ed water twice is a good rule of thumb for soil.
if you're in coco, it's a whole different game, and you want to water every day with nutrient solution, and get about 10% run off each time, to prevent depleted salts from building up.

the general wisdom is that letting them get slightly root bound makes them take off faster when you do repot them...i just repot when i start to see roots coming out of the bottom of the pots

Ima grow photoperiods, I’m not sure why but I don’t wanna deal with auto’s for my first grow. Maybe it’s because I want everything at my control or something not sure tho haha

I transfer from 1/2 gal to 15 gals. Works fine. I don't like transplanting. Add Mykos though when you transplant.

there'll just be a period where it doesn't seem like much is happening, till the roots get ahead of the canopy, then you'll start seeing growth above ground again. if you do it in smaller stages, it minimizes that "stall" time

I agree. But it will work if you don’t overwater. I’ve done kinda the same but bigger transplant up. I wasn’t aware how to water properly so it stunted them. Plus side once I got it figured out my ladies seem to love me so far.

I’m going to use coco, can’t I do one nutrient feed then water the next time then feed with nutes again or do I need to mix nutrients every time I water?

I don't grow in soil but I treat my coco the same as soil in the early days.
I feed around the stem with a syringe and let it wick out to prevent it getting saturated.

Correct me if I’m wrong but with photos you can get more yield right since you can implement training whether it be lst or super cropping unlike autos where you can’t do anything unless u want to stunt growth

im not sure about yield being I haven’t did any autos yet. But I do know you can veg your photo for a long time( indoors) and ideally you should have a nice harvest.

You can get large yields out of autos as well. You can LST and supercrop them just like any healthy plant.
