I might crush up/ blend the lemon peel put it in a little baggy at the bottom while it’s curing to see if it absorbs the lemon smell, would be a plus if it taste a bit more lemony.

Don't - thats how I used to give mold to my weed when i was a bigger idiot than now. and plus, if you grow decent weed you´ll just mess up its great terpenes and possibly the hole thing.
