4 Week Pistils

Hey all first time grower here. I have a Blue Dream Auto here that is about 4 weeks since popping through the soil surface. She's growing in Sohum Living Soil, no nutes, water pH'd to 6.5 under an SF2000 light. I was surprised to see pistils form around a week ago and they've been developing ever since. The plant is only about 7" tall. Is it normal for autos to show pistils this early and will it continue to grow taller?

It will continue growing a bit, but since it already started flowering don’t expect anything huge. Maybe double the size she is now. Also why are you pHing living soil? No need for that
I've read that soil naturally buffers the pH, but also read conflicting stuff around the web about it. Since this is my first plant, I figured I'd cover all my bases in case I mess this up, it'll be one less thing I can second guess.

Even if she's doubles I'll gladly take it. I'm happy to have gotten this far. Any ideas as to what might cause an auto to go into flower so soon? Just so I can make a mental note for future grows.

Ya, no need to pH water for organic soil for the most part.

What size pot are you in? Usually once the roots hit the bottom of the pot the auto’s will trigger flower. Just part of their survival technique as auto’s come from harsh conditions

5 gallon fabrics. Temps fluctuate between 75-78° and the humidity around 55-65%. 20:4 light schedule. I've tried keeping up with a good VPD based on where it was in germ and early veg (current). One thing I may have messed up on is light height it may have been a tad closer then it should have. I raised the light and adjust the intensity. She's getting around 470 PPFD at the top as of right now. If all of the above is good I can only assume it's genetics? It's from FastBuds.

Well they came through for ya though. That was fast, lol.

My autos showed pistils at day 20 but kept growing until around day 45 and they were only in 2gal pots. I think that’ll probably get significantly larger.

Thanks for the reply! Yea, I actually heard back from someone at FastBuds early this morning and they said their autos typically do this between 20 and 35 days. I wondered if I could do anything leading up to this point to make her grow taller so she went into flower with some height, but honestly there's only so much you could do make it grow an 1 or maybe 2 inches taller in that timeframe. Hoping she grows like you said... Thanks again!

Once the plant is showing that many pistils it will have gone through most of it's stretch phase. It may get slightly larger, but don't expect it to double in size.

Most autos will start to flower in 3-4 weeks. Some longer it's just luck of the draw. Variation is one of the huge reasons most people don't like autoflowers.

I’ve only grown two so I have virtually zero sample size, but the one with the red tag in the pot was a few days after pistils showed.

Then it ended up this size, after topping and then accidentally breaking the new tops off a week later

so there’s still at least some hope Lol.

these guys have way more experience though, I have no idea how normal this is.

That gives me hope for sure! Hard to tell, but it looks like I'm at relatively the same height as your first picture (around 8"?) Although yours does look a lot more bushier cause of the LST you did. I was planning on doing the same, but it started flowering before I could start and I didn't want to stunt her. Yours came out awesome!

My current auto. LST won't stunt a healthy plant. Makes a big difference.

Picture from yesterday at day 35. Looks funky because I keep mangling it (supercropping) to make it fit where I want in the tent.

after bending the tallest cola like that, how long did it take to get back healthy - and did you bend it in flowering or in veg? (i guess it depends on plant health and other factors) but is there an average time?
