First coco grow what's up with my seedlings

I don’t measure ec. Just ph, the nutes have been pretty forgiving for me. I have the healthiest plants I’ve grown. Looks better then a lot I’ve seen also. It all depends on how well you know your nutes you are using. Plus it helps that jr Peter’s has been in the agg business for years and years too
I guess you could just guess at feed strength, but I'm not that kind of grower. I also run Jack's but you still need to know how strong your feed is.

Unless it's very early in the seedlings life where I don't use a lot of feed I always mix up 5 gallon batches. Once you mix up one batch at different strengths and measure you know the same weight of nutrients will always come out to the same EC. It's worth measuring at least once.

You have been very lucky. How long have you been in hydro without test equipment?

I’ve been doing the recommended following from early on:
1/2tsp 5-12-26
1/4 tsp epsom
1/2 tsp calnit.
And the plants have been LOVING IT.

I THINK it comes out to around 650-700. With my water being 240 Ppm I believe.
this allows me to think I’m pushing a little harder then I am when I put in oversized scoops lol.

Yeah some people naturally do better in soil and others in hydro. I tended to water everything to death so my affinity to hydro was there.
So true, after starting in soil i switched to coco/perlite hempy buckets. Tried straight perlite last time but I'll most likely go back to 70/30 coco perlite.

Same. First grow was soil which I got to harvest. Then I switched to Tupur. Don’t think I’m looking back.
Also mind you my feed, I mix double what i put and mix 2 gals at once. Ph to 5.7/5.8 and Bob’s your uncle.

The reason I didn't pH is 2 reasons, I use AN nutes and have seen succesful grows with my set up without checking pH online. I have a friend who the only difference is he uses canna nutes and canna Coco has around 20 successful grows and never owed a pH pen.
I have now flushed this hot ecothrive coco with 0.3ml per litre of nutes, I plan to update u guys on this grow in the future. I will not be checking the pH in future (don't get mad) as this isn't my issue here.
I will be starting in a smaller pot tho, if all fails I will go back to soil which after nearly 2 grows I'm getting a knack for

Hello, these guys are 8 days from seed in Coco with 30% perlite, I've been giving them 1.5l of water around twice now with 1ml per liter of Coco ab, Cal mag and voodoo.....2 seedlings are fine but these are not looking good, i did spray plain water on them now and again to stop top layer drying out but quickly stopped that. Thank you
Too dry... its salt build up from being too dry. Feed every day or 2 qt that age

Do you the same water as your friend? Like do you go to his house to use water go mix your nutrients. You could live a couple miles from each other and have completely different pH water.

You can do whatever you want with your grow, I wouldn't get mad. They aren't my plants. We're just trying to help you be successful. GL

You absolutely can over water coco coir in the beginning when the root system isn't large enough. It's a lot easier to start plants in tiny containers which dry out faster.

If you're happy and it's working great. I don't care if you pH or not. I couldn't do my grows without it but you aren't me. It's fine.

Since sprout they only had 3 waterings two 1.5litres and a 500ml around 4 days between them and one was the initial. Surely 2ml of Coco ab altogether wouldn't cause this? Each watering had run off and when the pic was took it was still very wet half inch down but obvs I watered anyway I do when the top goes light color.
Like I said before there's 2 threads I read on other forums about ecothrive being way too hot for seedlings as it has around 178g of charge per 50l, I figured this was jus bacterial until I read the issues and it is a npk value plus me added feed in = crispy leafs

Dry coco also has some issues in the way it racts with nutes.mm that's why it comes damp in the bag.

It's the medium. It must have fertilisers in it. You can see the burn.
First, coco watering is just flood and drain. It's basically hydro. Secondly, don't buy coco with anything mixed in. I grew for years in straight coco just using normal commercial fertilisers and had excellent results. There is no need to buy expensive medium nor expensive nutrients. I checked their Web site... 50L for 16 pounds!!! That's three times what I pay for straight coco.

That's hydro. How long have you been running without equipment? I started in NFT rails in 96 and went to coco around 2014.
Not long at all honestly. New to growing but not new to the lingo and terminology. Been researching for years before starting during quarantine. So honestly not long at all. But I do know how to work with what I have to reach my goals with plant training. As long as the plants are happy and not showing deficiencies, then I am happy.

As long as what you're doing is working for you enjoy it.

Exactly my mistake.... having flushed it the water was orangey brown way too hot and it wasn't my 2ml nutes input in that's for sure. I don't understand why u would sell hot Coco that kills seedlings or why it's so popular. In UK it's basically canna, gold label (also 'charged') or ecothrive....I choose wrong.
Same with canna soil the professional plus one is 10/10 but the normal Terra one gave my plants nitrogen tox they never burnt but was very sad untill I flushed 3 times. Why sell hot mediums especially for cannabis that is very fussy sometimes
