Received my Mars-Hydro ts1000 damaged

Hello fellow rollitup members. Yesterday I received my ts1000 and when I opened the box I noticed the driver was disconnected. Upon further inspection I noticed 5 screws ,and one of the black nuts that hold the driver in place loose in the box. The 5 screws are out of the light itself. One of the post that holds the driver in place is knocked out of place and loose. And there is a dent and scratches on the plate. The only thing that could have moved around it the box smashing stuff was the driver so what damage could there by to that?

I Know the ts1000 is a budget light. But I think it should not be delivered in that shape. I have reached out to Mars-Hydro in many ways and I would just like a replacement. When [email protected] responded this is their solutionScreenshot_20210805-082627_(1).png
I've asked for a different light or a refund. I will update how it all works out. Guess I will have to buy a better light next time. Wondering if anyone else has had this happen.

Maybe tagging marshydro in this thread would help some. Most of the time these guys don't wanna deal with bad PR to the point that we it's just easier to give you what you want. But I feel it's shitty when they worry more about looking bad than acting bad. I'd stand my ground and ask for refund and then consider what brand to go with. Some of the newer mars lights ain't too bad but if you don't get decent aftersales you can just aswell get some cheaper AliExpress lights and forget about after sales.

They sent me a shipping label. Said they'd send me a new light once they received the damaged one. It's on the way to them. We'll see how long it takes them to send me a new one.
Feels fair and square but must be a hassle and inconvenience. Hard to demand a new light until they have the broken one back. But I know hlg have sent out boards just based on honor principle and user having a decent presence on RIU. Glad you got some satisfaction

It seems like a reasonable response to me to be honest. I mean , just think of the cost to ship it back to them and then another one to you. How much greenhouse gas etc will it produce? $20 for a blemish sounds like a good deal. Not like a scratched car everybody will see, unless you're into equipment porn and want to show it off all pretty.

It wasn't just scratches. 5 screws had fell out of the light, the post that holds the driver was knocked out and the driver couldn't be reattached. Their second response was reasonable not their first. Would run a light in your house with screws falling out of it? Not me.

Mars-Hydro has a ts 1000 for $20 off. If it sounds like a good deal you should message them.

No, I would fix it and run it. But usually I have plants to grow and the time without a light costs more if you know what I mean.

I wouldn't run that crap if you paid me. I have nice quality Timber lights.
I said in the original post I know it's a budget light. I only use it to start my plants for outdoors. I purchased my first led in March bought this one to go in a 2x4 tent with the other to give indoor growing a try to see if I like indoor growing then maybe buy a better light.

So your the kind of person that likes to make comments about how I should take a $20 refund because it's just a dent, and greenhouse gases caused by shipping, and unless I'm into equipment porn the dent and damage shouldn't matter, then shit on someone else light and brag about yours. People like you just say stuff to start shit and insult people. Thanks for your input. Very helpful. Your the best, great light you have.
