Defoliation makes perfect sense if you have no clue about botany. It's 100% bro science. Ask the defoliators for some evidence that it improves your Cannabis crop in any way. Nope, all you get is "my bro defoliates and he grows fire."
not exactly true i've seen side by sides same strain same train but one defoliated hard and the other very lightly defoliated and the one with more leafs taken off ended up with 12.6oz and the other plant came out to be between 10-11 oz

Depends on your area. Every local is different. One around here the labor drives the pins but the finisher holds them or some shit. No way someone is swinging a hammer by my head all day

you see they’re all on meth :hump:
Yeah laborers hook up and break down line, and rake concrete here.

I've done numerous side by side comparisons using clones over the last 8 years or so. I dont butcher them to death, but I do defoliate enough to expose lower branches 2-3 times during flower. In my comparisons, my defoliated plants produced more weight than their non-defoliated siblings every single time. Sometimes it was a small difference, but more often than not it was noticeable. The non-defoliated plants always had more popcorn buds, where the defoliated had more trim-worthy buds. The main colas on the defoliated plants were just as big as the non. Defoliation is also a useful tool if you're like me and have a small growing space. It allows more airflow thus reducing the chance of mold. I'm not going to argue with all of the RIU know-it-alls here, just sharing my experience.

What I've noticed is buds that don't get much light will have a high leaf to bud ratio. Big colas directly beneath the lights are always the easiest to trim. This leads me to believe that the photosynthesis process that is driving bud production is happening on site. If a bud is getting direct light, it is capturing and converting it in its own leaves, not neighboring leaves. If it were the other way around all of the buds would be fairly equal in size and quality.
