Sounds like you like it lol. It’s hard to beat the bang fir the buck.

It has helped with temps for sure. I have it in 4×4 and gave that tent its own inline fan. I had an infinity exhausting both but now have it in the larger tent. Will try to get pics later but one is both run different times.

The 4x4. They seem happy with the light, need to trim it up. Wasnt expecting stretch for this strain
Was just about to ask how you liked. and sounds like it does the job. I just bought another of the SS2000 last nite. I looked and looked and you just can’t beat it. I don’t rock a tent just a 10x 14 room in the basement sealed with poly and a 800 cfm exhaust fan and a 600 intake. Even in the heat wave hottest it git was 81 and I don’t have central air just a window shaker in living room.

I just love the amount of light with that little heat. HPS are good but the damn heat sucks. Now I’m trying to find someone to take these hoods and ballasts lol.

Funny enough i have another SS4000 in larger tent now but plan on adding an SS2000 to it for a 2×4 section of tent ( will just put smaller kush plants there) . I got the 2nd SS4000 a week ago. I will run 4 under the 4000 then another 2 or 3 on the side under 2000

Lower temps in tents( 82.9 above canopy in pic) but i keep ac unit in room running for cool air. Both have their own inlines and filters but now i dont need my ac infinity booster fan which i used to push heat out of hps hood. Less power use now with less fans

Just wish they were still 99 and 199. They quickly realized that’s just too cheap lol. But I got 4 at that price. Now I had to pay 139 fir the SS2000. Still beats the rest of em tho.

For sure. Plus i have around 120 in Amazon gift cards collecting dust so the am SS2000 will cost me $20. It is soo much easier to manage heat now, looking forward to 1st electric bill

The 4×4 is C99 , and lemon tree. Will do Crescendo and sour d in larger tent with a few cherry pie x triangle kush on the 2×4 part of larger tent. SS4000 then the ss2000 perpendicular

i am wondering if there are any people who have actually grown with the phytomax-2's and can comment on their experience. a lot of people shit on them for price but i'm wondering about the actual experience of it, price notwithstanding.

For some reducing electricity bill while getting the same output example I have a 1000watt hps but will swap it for a 600watt led sounds like a good idea but others such as myself I invested in a phytomax-2 1000 which it's output is compared to 2100watts but I fit it in a 5by5by 7"11 the 36" height to canopy is important to achieve the 5by5 spread for even distribution but the spectrum is really tuned in they have a phytomax 3 coming out but the details and specs have not been release yet
Why all the other lights in there if it’s compared to 2100 watts?

I'm sorry I dont understand you
The price you spend on a light, does not determine of how much better it is than the next light.

Let’s take yours for example. It’s overpriced, outdated and highly inefficient compared to about 90% of the newer style LED on the market.

I don't think you've done your research or know the specs if you want to go cheap your answer will be in the result i never said just because it's expensive that's why it's the best but compared to a 1000lumatek hps I'm getting far better results atleast it's a led that has true ultraviolet and infrared in its spectrum and doesn't require a vegg and flower light that's why they transition so fast and easy from vegg to flower ... and please justify what model led are you comparing the phytomax-2 1000 and how much is it overpriced and how is it outdated and and inefficient tell me of one light you know of people are getting 3 pounds in a 5by5 space
Welcome to RIU

Everyone apparently gets 3+ Pounds from 4x4’s here.

Hate to tell you but they are way overpriced and as mentioned the technology is outdated. The most efficient lights are smd style. Either on a board or rail style. That’s not to say your light is not great.

I still have a bunch of the full spectrum lights that you have except I bought Chinese assembled lights for a fraction. The bottom line is the components and all are from Asia. Blackdog just days top bin LEDs. Mine, made by Mieemclux, use Bridgelux LEDs, which can be considered top bin. And it has all the same range of LEDs. White, warm white, blue, red IR, UV. Which is basically the same as the Blackdog. But the only lights peeps are buying now are smds. Usually Samsung LM301B diodes. They’re 3000k and 5000k. Then they add something like Osram reds and some IR and UVs.

So go find lights with Samsung LM301 with a Meanwell driver. 75 cents to maybe a buck per real watt of draw is the most you should pay. I paid 50 cent lol.

I just bought an new LED for my tiny grow, I want to get some Auto's going and the burples just didn't cut it. I'll use them for fill in lighting though.
I purchased the BestVA 105W light not because to was brighter but due to it's heat sink.
https://www.amazon.com/BESTVA-Dimmable-MeanWell-Greenhouse-Hydroponic/dp/B08PD6SMDD/ref=rvi_1/147-3634830-6030934?pd_rd_w=aLUd1&pf_rd_p=c0296674-5a83-4ad6-b035-0702d2b359df&pf_rd_r=9GQG6HMBDP1XW4G3WRR0&pd_rd_r=6042f8b5-08d7-47c7-a3d7-2cb6e630dc18&pd_rd_wg=xN0Lo&pd_rd_i=B08PD6SMDD&th=1
This is the 200 W but the 100 looks the same. Heatsinks are rated in T/Watt and bigger is always better, up to a point.Compared to a Mars Hydro or some of the others at this price point, the BestVA is way better built and should run a lot lower peak temperature differintial than the QB's or even the Vibraspetras with the heat sink.

Also the footprint is more rectangular than the QB square footprints, important in my 2'x3' space. I am fortunate in my arrangement I can move the light around a good deal to spread the light over the whole area.

One question I have is what is the average solar load in candle power at 38 degrees North? The reason I ask is I have a candlepower meter and measured full mid day sunlight at 6,000 to 6,100 Cp. Now this in not PPFD But I figure that the difference in Cp vs PPFD will be proportional and if I consider ~6,000 Cp as a "One Solar Load" if I get the same reading at say 12" I should be about equal to direct sunlight. The difference in PPFD vs Cp readings will be taken up by the spectrum of the light.

Can one if you with a PPFD sensor take a reading of direct sun and let me know what you get? I'm just trying to make my $10 Cp meter fill in.
