Yup, the cicadas are here and one or two are in my cannabis trees.
(One of my sativa dominant plants is 8 feet tall.

Damn, I hate that constant noise.
Fortunately they do not harm the plants.

I am in the same area as you are and my 8 foot tall plant ended up being a male. My females are at about 6 ft. But they are very bushy.

They do pee so definitely rinse off well before harvest

You couldn't tell it was male after it was a foot tall?
I found out it was male when it began to show signs. First pic it is 2 Ft tall. Pic 2 is when I noticed that the limbs were not as they usually are. Note that the limbs are not opposite as they usually are. Then after a weekend I saw it on the monday and took the 3rd pic.

It would show signs after about 12 nodes. It doesn't matter if the nodes stagger or not that's dependent on a few different things. Not male or female.

The males are typically taller than the females.
I thought my fast growing sativa plants were males but are females.
Cannabis Sativa can grow up to 20 feet tall.
I would love to see a 20 foot Sativa tree!
