I have used Fox Farm nutes with great results. After saying that let me also say I think they have gone way overboard with the amount of crap they want you to feed the plants.
I started using them way back in 2008 when there was only the three liquids and three solids. They have slowly added the gamut to their line up. lol
Here's the kicker... After years of trial and error running the same strains in clone form. I have found that really only two of the whole line up are needed to produce big frosty colas. Grow Big and Open Sesame.
Yep I said it. After trying all the other stuff with worse results. Less is more with FF. I feed every watering. LIGHTLY. Never more than 1/4 strength.
Marijuana simply loves Grow Big in veg and early flower. I have yet to meet a strain that doesn't excel with the right amount dialed in.
Then Open Sesame. I start feeding it the week before flower, again 1/8-1/4 strength. Less is more. I then take them all the way to late flower with that. Watching the plants and adjusting the strength according to the plants needs.
Around week five flower I cut out the Grow big and give just Open Sesame all the way to harvest.
Simple, yet tried and true. All the other shit was causing lockout and yellowing and yadda yadda yadda...
Remember Fox farm is in the business of selling nutrients. They want you to use a ton, so you will buy a ton. Don't buy into the hype.
I recommend new growers keep it simple and always go with the motto, "Less is more." When it comes to feeding an unknown phenotype. Learn to let the plants tell you what they need and soon it will become like riding a bike!
