Well, her husband didn't sound very happy about it, since he quit when he found out. Also the woman was Newsom's secretary. In most public organizations, that is potential cause for dismissal. I have to be honest, I'm really confused as to why you would condone his adulterous behavior. I mean if you wanna say "he's better than Trump", at least that's a sensible (albeit weak) statement, but to say at least "it wasn't rape" doesn't sound like a very good defense.

Newsom won't resign over this BS. This woman hasn't filed any harassment complaints. This was consensual act and between 2 legal age adults....it's none of our business.

Yeah, I'm not saying that it is, and I don't think that it was in any way an impetus for the recall to begin with. It's still an interesting piece of the puzzle, and certainly does speak to his trustworthiness as a person.

I wouldn't trust a pretty female significant other around him for long hours, but that doesn't mean he can't do the job.

Just to put things in perspective for you, the minimum wage is California is $14/hr, meanwhile the cost of living is more than double that of West Virginia, so by that metric we are doing worse out here in Cali than they are back there. When we got the covid bucks from Trump and Biden, it didn't go very far around here, maybe a half-month's worth of rent. Folks back in WV had their rent paid for months and months from the stimulus bucks.

Yes, which is why I said "by that metric". Now you are deflecting by bringing in an alternate piece. It's true that in terms of Cannabis, we're better off here, but there are other states which have Cannabis laws equal to what we have in Cali, but also have the low cost of living that WV has. Michigan comes to mind. Then again, MI has cold winters.
