So I found two hlg-185h-36b on ebay for a heck of a deal and bought them, I want to build a veg light in 4000k using the bridgelucx gen 3 strips,X BXEB-L0560Z-xxS2000-C-C3. I'm confused on how to do the math to determine how many bars would be best to run on this. Can someone point me in the right direction?

l plan to use the bars to veg a 3x3 tent, and would like to use both drivers to build two lights and have two levels in the tent.

Thank you

Not an expert on this, but I was considering a strip build and read a bunch of threads on here. Mostly people run the drivers at wide open or close to it and the strips at 50 to 60 % of their wattage. So your drivers are 185 watts, say your strips are rated at 85 watts max; you could think of that as 45 to 50 watts a strip and run 4 of them off each driver. That’s without a heat sink. With a heat sink you can drive them 100%, but the strips are usually cheap and it’s efficient to use twice the strips and drive them lighter. That’s what I got out of my reading anyway. Someone who knows more should be along though.

its doable. when hot the strips at 700ma will function around 18v, and they will get hot, so wire up two in series 18x2=36v, and then run out parallel strings. I would build 4 parallel, so total 8 strips, if you were starting from scratch look for better strip/driver match.
Cheers

That's about what I thought. I'm thinking about just biting the bullet and getting something else, however I'm looking forward to getting the 20, 2 footers I ordered yesterday in and getting out the multimeter and playing around until I've got a better understanding of this stuff.

In more exciting news, I'm assembling this one tonight, 10 90 CRI 27000k on an hlg-320h-42a.

Thanks for your help!
