No use for Cal Mag during late Flower?

So I was hearing a youtube Podcast when some big brained guy (Or not he fooled me though lol) talk about using Cal Mag during late flower actually hurts the plant. You know in order to really confirm this Rollitup has to agree (Good luck with that) Is this true? I usually give Cal Mag 2.5 per G all way through harvest (With Every Feed). I know it's said Cal Mag is over used and I'm sure I over use it myself.

Just wondering what Rollitup thinks?

I'm not sure what he was talking about. It seems to me that any deficiency might lead to bottlenecking your yield. It just makes sense to provide a plant everything that it needs throughout it's life. I'm curious what he was referring to? Do you remember the guy's name?

Why do you add CalMag? Is your nutrient line not contain calcium and magnesium? Or do you just add it because you heard you had to?

Most likely talking about the N in cal mag. Like 28 already said, your nutrients should already include that. However, under LED I still get a cal def (I add Epsom for mag)

so if your nutrients already have enough N and you add more, trouble may appear

Cal/mag has some essential nutrients in it that most bloom only nutrients don't. So yes its needed at different ratios. Throughout the entire budding phase. I use the roots organics uprising dry nutrients line of the bloom, and the foundation (which is a more cal/mag blend). Also I use Un-sulphered blackstrap molasses, as it contains alot of essential trace minerals. And is a natural source of magnesium. Calcium from the dry foundation nutes.

I dunno. Maybe stuff trace wise as boron, iron, copper, potassium, vitamin B6, zinc etc. That's just off the top of my Hashed brain. I ain't no scientist. But I do study and apply absorbed knowledge to my hobby. bongsmilie

The ones I use are Un-sulphered Blackstrap molasses. Roots organics uprising dry line. And a locally sourced bagged super soil that is loaded with all to begin with. And yes, its really that easy! ;)

Guess that more context is needed. Not every calmag supplement is made the same or from the same ingredients.

My hydro nutes lack Ca and Mg, so i add them from another bottle. Wouldn't try to do hydro without Ca and Mg. On my organic grow, i just use dry amendments or home made fermented ferts and don't use any commercial CalMag. Just to name two different scenarios.

Un-sulphered blackstrap molasses has all those trace elements in it? We're talking CalMag specific additives.

Yes. A majority of them. It also contains calcium as well as magnesium. Look at a bottle for yourself. I use it every other watering during flower. With great results. This ain't no bro science. Its about how the carbohydrates energize the microbes. Resulting in a better transfer of said trace elements to the micro heard allowing for the roots to better uptake nutrients. Its really Not a new scientific knowledge.

Which brand do you use that has magnesium? I don't have any microbes to process that so I guess it wouldn't help everyone.

Your tap water has calcium and magnesium.
Bagged soil has calcium and magnesium.
Most nutrients have calcium and magnesium.
I think the problems arise not from too little, but too much.
I’m not hydro, only indoor and outdoor soil.
All kinds of plants, not just cannabis.
Have never had a need for CalMag.
I’ve tried it.
But the 4 year old bottle I still have in my grow room is 99.9% full.
I wonder if it’s still any good.
