Too many yellow leaves in flower?

I am new AF to this but finally got one to turn out (so far lol) and hoping to have a strong finish. My question is: how many leaves should I be losing during flower? I read A LOT on here and have learned that some of the lower fan leaves should turn yellow and fall off but for the experts on this forum does this look like too many? I bet I lost a few hundred by now…

here is some conditions that she’s in:

1. started by clone on 6/1
2. kicked into flower around 8/1 (I’m not sure what “flower really means but somewhere in there)
3. growing in 65G fabric pots
4. Used dry NPK in the soil before last transplant and not added “nutes” during grow but used silica for the wind and some molasses (and subsequent cinnamon for ants).
5. N CA grow, hot and dry.
6. pH’d water the whole way and I think I solved how to water last year…I just take a few things that work and apply them the next grow
7. she is ~7x7 w/o the 18” pot
8. I probably didn’t trim enough small/interior bud so will make that correction next year.

So I am using the “stacking method” the grow shop suggested for beginners. I used 420 soil which is supposed to have some good stuff pre-mixed and then layered soil, K, soil, P, soil, N, soil. Maybe I needed more P&K?

You were right, I added an organic soil drench @ 50% of what the bag said (2 tsp/gal). It is called a finishing product. I think I will repeat in a day or two and watch her. The yellowing seems to have slowed and there are new white pistols coming out the entire length of each cola! The other difference seems to be the little sugar leaves and even some of the fan leaves that were yellowing are now turning sorta purple and it’s only been 48 hrs. As long as I learn a few things every year I can improve in getting a better outcome. People say these are “easy to grow”, and I agree to an extent, but there seems to be some tricky/finicky chemistry compared to other gardening…anyone can get light popcorn bud or the stuff that you can’t even get thru a grinder but I still have not been able to produce the dense but dry smooth smoke. This is by far my best shot to date. Thanks again.

Mine is in week 5 and had yellow leaves below the canopy and at the base of it as well. In some of these pics i took yesterday you can see the leaves turning yellow everywhere. Theones that were totally yellow to white i clipped as well as ones that were turning yellow from green so that leaves below would get some sunlight and give energy to the lower green fan leaves. Also, i fed them a double dose of recharge and epsom salts after defoliating these yellow fan leaves. Shes coming into week 5 and i ran out of bloom base nutes (cns17 bloom) and started her on a regimen of various bloom fertilizers (bud ignitor, big bud and tiger bloom and overdrive in lieu of cns17 ripe since I cant find a 250 ml bottle for sale anywhere), bloom boosters (lquid karma, bud candy, bud factor x) and ordered some calmag plus since i ran out of that and had to resort to using epsom salts., Will add some more EWC to the top dressing and keep feeding her molasses since there isn't enough bud x factor to really make an impact. I feed her the fertilizers and the boosters every couple days and then flush her with water at the end of the week. Hopeing this will produce new foliage at the bottom of the tree and in the little popcorn branches at the base of the main colas which were stretching and keep stretching upward but are still hidden.

I see the similarities for sure. I had it so I could barley see through her at the end of the stretch, which seemed substantial to me. Now, it’s easy to see through the plant. I lost 200-300 leaves but it has opened up the plant for the sun and wind. last year I solved the physical need for structure and LST. I have it speed out for the sun.

Anytime. Feel free to shoot me any questions you might have. I don't know it all but have been able to navigate a few grows over the years. If all else fails you have a great network of growers here to help! :D

You’re in a dry climate but yellow or black sugar leaves can mean mold, especially if they pull off easily. Yellow fan leaves are not a problem.

Ya thanks all. I really appreciate it. I definitely think she was asking for food. Some yellow fan leaves seem good but it was an indication in my case to supplement more because now the pistols are taking off and the little sugar leaves are “brighter”.

last year I learned physical stuff like sun, wind, and water. This year is different

I found one leaf that looks bad but I do not see rot or mold yet. It could be caterpillars potentially but they are hella small cause I can’t see them with my naked eye…. I am super hot and dry with a wind most days so I have a natural buffer but last year caterpillars ate 25-30% lol…and I pulled down early because of it.

I’ll check it out today. I did pull that leaf out, looked at it under my loupe, and didn’t see anything “moving” but the sugar was all dark. Like @Kerowacked said; it came out easy.
