Nearing end of grow - one cola is discoloured and leaves are dying

Hi everyone, photos attached. The plant looks (reasonably) healthy except for a single cola which is discoloured and the fan leaves dying. Is this normal near the end of the grow? I'm using coco coir with LED lights.

Any help is appreciated

My eyesight isn't great, check it for rot, and cut it off if it is.

Hey Star Dog, thanks for your reply. I've had a pretty close look at the cola with a jouler's loupe and I can't see anything which would indicate rot. This is my first grow so I'ma bit clueless, but rot generally looks like dirt, yeah? The buds themselves look fine, it's just the fan leaves.

Is the bud dried/drying out a bit?
I'm not sure what you mean by looking like dirt but no, not that I can think of?

Yeah the bud is a bit dried out. It doesn't look partucularly different from the other buds except for the colour. It's my first grow and I'm not a huge smoker so if the low risk option is to just cut it off, let me know. I'd prefer to lose some of the batch rather than all of it. I have another two plants in the same grow room...

If you can afford to cut it off that's great it'll give you a chance to check it out and stop any progression if it is

Bud rot... Cut it off.. Botrytis is systemic and will affect the rest of the plant..

Its inside the bud, those twisted leaves are a sign that the inside is rotted. Cut it off, walk away, break it open or not.

It could be bud rot. But it could just be a dead branch. Sometimes branches get bent and just die on the plant and it looks like possibly that happened here.

Either way, cut it off as low and as close to the main stem as possible. Look for signs of the problem and if you can tell what caused it. Then throw away that branch and don't smoke it.

If it is bud rot, then other parts of the plant will also show similar symptoms with time. But be careful if you have other plants because it can spread
