Hi, I'm writing this letter to persuade whoever it is in charge that they should legalize marijuanna. I have many facts and reasons that should help my case. Why is pot illegal? Does the government really need money that bad? Is probation fees and filling up our jails really worth destroying our economy? Why does the government insist on robbing the American people? Look at our economy, now is not the time. Legalize pot and more people will buy houses, grocery shop, join the yacht club, (the list can go on and on)because they're actually out and about rather then sitting in jail! I mean, first off, its been known to treat cancer, vision deficiencies, not to mention it gives people an appetite. Yea, i know, its legal to the people who have those deficiencies, and problems, however, What do you think will happen when pot is legalized? Just stop and think, what on earth would happen?.. I can tell you nothing bad will happen.. 1 arguement i just have to put out there is this..What happens when American's get the munchies?.. Well they go eat. Where do you think they are going to get their food?They'll either go to the grocery store and buy food, or go to a place like waffle house and chow down. ok, i told you that in order to tell you this...What happens when everyone in america is going out and eating at local businesses? Yep you guessed it! The economy is going to sky-rocket. All the people of america are going to start shopping instead of worrying and holding on to their money, and they're going to boost the food market,housing market, and many other markets. People are going to want to taste and try new things, thats 1 good quality about marijuanna, it gives you a new taste for different foods, for example- John Smith, he's a tax payin citizen , we'll say hes a lawyer, hes got a good bit of money and he has everything he wants in life, well lets say the day pot is legalized, john decides he wants to try it, well he likes it, it calms his nerves, lets him kick his feet up and really enjoy life to its fullest. Well about an hour afterwards john gets those munchies, but he dont feel like eating at wendys anymore, he wants something that'll really taste good, that'll really satisfy those taste buds-because being high, really gives him a new respect for 'taste'. so John goes down to the steak house, which happens to be locally owned, and instead of giving his money to a fast food business, now, its going to the locally owned businesses.. Not only will that locally owned business grow, but the people eating there will be eating healthier foods instead of eating a greasy hamburger from mcdonalds. And also not only will the legalization of marijuanna cause the economy to jump, but it'll also lower the amount of deaths from drunk driving...if you really think about it, if marijuanna were legal, dont you think people would rather smoke weed then drink alcohol? Getting high is much easier then getting drunk. And you know exactly what happens when a drunk person gets behind the wheel of a car.. they could and already do kill innocent families, like present day.. when you're high, your more in control of your conscience mind, and you can decide better if you are able to drive, and if you should. Its science.. go look it up. Second off, Marijuanna has no addictive qualities, and it has no bad effects. It lowers stress. 1 major cause of people getting fat is stress, and America is known for people being under stress. Other countries like holland, have no economic problems and they are a well functioning country. If a survey were to be done in amsterdamn, i could bet that at least 60% or more of their people smoke pot. And look at how well they are functioning. My point is that if you want at successful, functional, economy, just look around, and the answer is right in front of your face... legalize pot, and America will thank you for it.
