Judge Warns Trump Org to Follow Subpoenas
A New York judge has warned the Trump Organization not to delay in complying with subpoenas New York Attorney General Letitia James issued in relation to an ongoing civil probe of the company, Bloomberg reports.
In an order issued on Sept. 2, which was unsealed on Friday, Justice Arthur Engoron told the Trump Organization that unless the attorney general is satisfied, the company will be forced to hire an outside firm to supervise their compliance with the subpoenas.
"The Trump Organization, by September 30, 2021, shall provide a report, in reasonable detail, of actions taken to preserve, collect, and produce hard-copy and electronic documents responsive to the OAG subpoenas," the judge wrote, according to CNN. This order was made as part of a stipulation that was signed by lawyers representing both the state and the company.
Engoron added that the company "shall work diligently to comply with each of the production and other responsibilities."
"For more than a year now, the Trump Organization has failed to adequately respond to our subpoenas, hiding behind procedural delays and excuses. Once again, the court has ordered that the Trump Organization must turn over the information and documents we are seeking, otherwise face an independent third-party that will ensure that takes place. Our work will continue undeterred because no one is above the law," James said in a statement.
The Trump Organization did not immediately respond to Bloomberg’s or CNN’s requests for comment.
The attorney general filed a lawsuit more than a year ago in order to enforce several subpoenas in the civil case, which is unrelated to the criminal case against the Trump Organization and its former chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg, which is being coordinated with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

Appearing on The Daily Beast podcast "The New Abnormal," Mary Trump offered her take on the lawsuit saying one of her "favorite things" about the suit is the quotes he actually pulled from her book, "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man."
Mary said, "Probably my favorite thing about the suit is that he quotes the Times article extensively, which outlines all the awful things Donald had done. And then he quotes extensively from my book. Thank you! Should I be angry, or should I send him flowers for selling more books for me? I think it's the latter. Donald and Meghan McCain are like my best salespeople."
Another aspect that caught her attention in the suit is the suggestion that "somehow these New York Times reporters coerced me. Like, there's a difference between convincing someone over time and coercing them but apparently, I'm such a weak child that they were able to strong-arm me into smuggling my own documents and handing them over."
So will the lawsuit actually garner the result Trump is hoping for? With Trump's tainted legal history and his reputation of filing frivolous lawsuits, Mary Trump is not sure this lawsuit will

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) reportedly told former President Trump, "You f'd up your presidency" earlier this year when attempting to advise him to accept that he lost the 2020 presidential election.
This apparent bit of hard truth from the South Carolina Republican was shared on Sunday by renowned Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward while he was discussing his new book, "Peril," on NBC's "Meet the Press."
Host Chuck Todd asked Woodward and co-author and fellow Post reporter Robert Costa how they would characterize the attitude Graham and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows had towards Trump's refusal to accept the election results.
"We quote conversations between Sen. Graham and Trump in which Lindsey Graham says to Trump, 'You f'd up your presidency' at one point just a couple of months ago," Woodward said.
Woodward added that Trump hung up on Graham and then called him back a day later, at which point Graham said to Trump, "I would have hung up too."
"The core conclusion that Graham has is you lost a close election. Face it," said Woodward.
Todd asked Costa if Trump believes he lost the election, noting that the authors quoted Trump as saying that if he does not continue fighting the election results, then he will lose his base of supporters.
"I've learned covering President Trump and covering politics, it doesn't really matter sometimes what people think — it's what they do — and to assume nothing," Costa said.
"In 2015, a lot of people said Donald Trump won't run. He'll never win once he announced in 2016. Well, he won and lost in 2020. He wants power back, our reporting in the book shows," Costa continued. "He's out there with this Churchillian-type language — 'We'll never surrender. We'll never give in' — whipping up thousands of people across the country."

Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday lashed out at ex-White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham — one of the most senior aides to both Trump and the former first lady —as reports surfaced about her book that’s fiercely critical of him.
In a statement tweeted by his personal spokesperson, former Republican National Committee official and conservative journalist Elizabeth Harrington, Trump railed that "Stephanie didn’t have what it takes and that was obvious from the beginning."
"She became very angry and bitter after her break up and as time went on she was seldom relied upon, or even thought about," Trump wrote, apparently referring to Grisham's split with former White House official Max Miller.
Politico reported in July that Miller roughed up Grisham after she accused him of cheating on her. Miller's lawyer denied any assault. Miller is now running for a U.S. House seat with Trump's endorsement, Business Insider reported.
"She had big problems and we felt that she should work out those problems for herself," Trump’s statement asserted. "Now, like everyone else, she gets paid by a radical left-leaning publisher to say bad and untrue things"
"Too bad that sleaze bag publishers continue to report this very boring garbage. We and the MAGA movement are totally used to it. And someday in the not too distant future we will have our voice back and be treated fairly by the press," he concluded.
Among the reported criticism in Grisham’s new book — titled "I’ll Take Your Questions Now" — was that Trump’s temper was "terrifying."
"When I began to see how his temper wasn’t just for shock value or the cameras ... I began to regret my decision to go to the West Wing," Grisham writes in the book, according to The New York Times, who got a manuscript of the book due out Oct. 5.
Grisham writes that Pat Cipollone, White House counsel under Trump, was a frequent target of Trump’s fury.
"He didn’t like them telling him that things he wanted to do were unethical or illegal. So he’d scream at them. But then he’d usually listen. And then yell at them again later," Grisham writes, according to the Times.
