I used to spend like 20 times more on nutrients, but I realized Jack's is all I need. I'm not into buying cheap inadequate junk, but every time someone thinks "the more I spend the better the outcome," a marketing guy gets a semi-hard on out of nowhere.

I almost spent a bunch of money on nutrients for my first grow. Found some sta green, 3-1-2 for 7 bucks. Will make hundreds of gallons. It's working great.

I do want to try jacks next though.

After I gave my wife all my blurples I purchased many Viparspectra P series lights. 2 P1500s work quite well in a 2x4 and 3x3 tents. These seem to get the job done with no glitches. All my work is for me alone, therefore I'm not planning on spending big unless there is a return on said investment. My main reason for my light "ban" is that I already have more than I need {just like weed} so no more for now. I probably would have a hard time getting rid of the older ones, so I let my wife use them in her greenhouse. Peace...

I still got my first light its a blurple thinking about using it for veggies during the winter monthes

Black dog and kind are similar in many ways they both claim 3-4 lbs a light they both use different colors EXCEPT kind uses 12 different colors both are American made...and kind is cheaper (according to you I haven't checked) so too answer your question no to be the best light it doesn't have to be the most expensive. BUT it can be one of the most expensive

Blackdogs are still more expensive than most LEDs out there, does that mean they are the best then?

I'll tell you what got me into organics... replication of the natural ecosystem plants thrive in...I liked the idea of recycling soil round after round...I liked the idea of hydro too untill I seen how complicated things got...I think you guys have fast turn overs and big yields but that wasnt important to me I wanted the best I could possibly grow

I may sound like a spoiled brat...I want the best tent the best light the best inputs...but there's nothing I take more pride I'm then the sport of growing cannabis...I put mud sweat and tears into this...somebody told me once if you are going to do this and by "this" I mean whatever you are doin...you got to be ALL THE WAY involved you have to put your heart into it if you want to stand out for others

I grow organic right now, but not an organic nut. The only reason i have avoided real hydro is fear of a power outage.
Soiless, hempy's, etc can be maintained in the event of an outage, aero, dwc, nft, and flood and drain, good luck keeping them alive for days unless you have nothing else to do

My plants are at 12 weeks today and I just chopped the first one last night, but most of them have a few more weeks. I'm not worried about a fast turnover. A big yield comes from genetics and a properly grown, properly matured plant. I, like you, along with most everyone who grows wants the best I can possibly grow.

My tents are over five years old. They were decent, but I have to put up a blackout curtain. Which actually looks cool. It makes my plants look like they are on a Broadway stage. I totally agree with getting all of the way involved. That should mean learning the plant and giving it the perfect environment. That doesn't mean shop with the search filter set on "Price: high to low."

I take pride in my setup because it's unique and I assembled it myself -+piece by piece. I take more pride in the buds that my overall knowledge has produced. My hella expensive lights are quantum boards. When I first bought the Spectrum Kings I had to chose between them and Spyder lights, which were bar lights. I went with the boards because they seemed more powerful. I kept reinforcing that decision by buying more. Now I wish I would have went with the bars because of hot spot and height constraint issues. Live and learn and hopefully save some money in the process.

I've worried about the same thing. I've always used a soilless medium. Either coco or rockwool in all sorts of different ways. I've done flood and drain, but mostly hand watering. Now I use blumats with a tiny pump, but if the power goes it the water will still syphon unless my res is really low. Where I'm pushing a potential problem is by using really small pots. I just have to make sure I check on them, but after two successful experimental grows it seems to be working well.

Doesn't matter what your grow flowering times won't change but the amount of which your plants grows during veg stage has been proven to be faster when grown with chemicals and hydroponically it has been proven plants grow bigger and faster...many articles and studies done on this...

I don't care about veg time either. I have a veg room and a flowering room. I prefer my vegging plants to not beast out to be honest. My powerful lights are for flower.

Except that there are no chemicals involved, unless you are talking about pesticides, or treatments of some sort
