Elements aren't chemicals
From Wiki
In chemistry, an element is a pure substance consisting only of atoms that all have the same numbers of protons in their nuclei. Unlike chemical compounds, chemical elements cannot be broken down into simpler substances by any chemical reaction.

Now I’m not a scientist but to me it looks like chemical elements are all the same element combined and it can’t be broken by chemical reaction.

Just from Google:
Are elements and chemicals the same?

A compound contains atoms of different elements chemically combined together in a fixed ratio. An element is a pure chemical substance made of same type of atom. ... Elements that compose the compound are chemically combined. Elements contain only one type of atom.

Not trying to sound like a knowledge god or anything, just interested in this stuff.

I tried the Jack’s finish and it has that lousy blue dye in it too. My plants didn’t really like it and I hated watching my fans go synthetic blue. No calcium in it too, which was bad for me since my water is 55 ppm and has no calcium. WTF am I supposed to do for calcium at the finish, run the part B calcium nitrate? Your ph must be rock steady. Mine’s all over the place because of my low carbonates. I’m adding them back in with calimagic.

Yes it has awesome cation exchange capabilities, I did mix in some perlite with mine because I ran out of vermiculite but he said you could do that. Some people don’t run vermiculite at all but I’m really digging it’s water holding properties.
Yea I use it in other recipes but this next recipe no verm at all... vermiculite I have left will be used for mushrooms

Hey I’ve got leftover vermiculite too, maybe I should designate it for shrooms. We get liberty caps here in the fall sometimes, but I haven’t been able to find any in ages. Maybe I should try some inside shrooms. Which ones do you grow? Cubes are the most popular right?

Yea it is very steady. Fresh it sits around 8+ ph and if I let it air out I can get it down around 7.8 I’ve been using lemon juice as ph down but it’s tricky, I have to use the water right away and I try to ph it a tad lower, around 6 because I know it will drift up. I want to get some sulfuric acid soon. Could always get ph down but the lemon has been working well and I believe it’s dilute enough to not decimate any microbes I may have there. Hopefully.

Cubes are nice and easy to grow compared to wood lovers, and many varieties you can try. I grew some Fijian cubes once and it was some of the best fun I’ve had in a long time.

Citric acid is cheap and easy.
