Grow room question

Hi all ok so my room is now fully set up ready for my plant to go in but I have a few question sorry.
Soooooooooo

my carbon filter and extractor I’m thinking it’s too small how do I calculate the m3 per hr?

also a small fan to blow on the plants is it essential to have a oscillating fan or is a bone oscillating fan ok?
Thanks

The fan and filter should have a cubic ft a minute or metric equivalent rating. Any bends in the ductwork reduce that figure significantly.

The fan is to keep air circulating around the leaves. So an oscillating one if there is only one and you want to ensure everything gets some air movement. But in the confines of a tent about any fan will do as long as it's big enough. The 4" personal fans are not when using just one.

Ok another one do I need to be running the carbon filter in veg stage and if so how long just for the same length of time the lights are on or a little longer?

same as fan for blowing air on my pants does this need to be on 24/7 thanks

My plsbts get consistently stank towards end of veg/start of flower cycls, and it gets a lot better (or worse, depending on opinion) throughout flower. If mainly concerned about the smell, you could likely wait to start running the charcoal filter extraction system till around that timeframe, or simply wait till you can start to smell them. Good luck getting stuff dialed in!

Ok it looks like I’ve lost three of my seedlings as they dried out. So I’m going to continue with the remaining two how far away from the top of the seedling should my 600w HPS light be? Is it still put your had there and uf feels warm it’s if if it’s hot if will but.

Seedlings don't need a whole lot of light. A smaller light closer is what you want. I run a 50ww FS cob right above them, maybe 4" when really small.

hotrod speaks the truth - don’t aim your fans directly at your plants. It’s true that some movement of the stems helps to encourage production of lignin, it doesn’t require a fan blowing at the plants - air movement inside the space will do that for ya.

Turn off the hps, and give those seedlings a cfl or fluorescent grow bulb - they need very limited much like clones. I’m surprised that even some seedlings survived the hps lol

Seedlings seem o be loving the HPS it’s filled down to 250w just wasn’t sure how close it can be

I think there's a difference between 'wind' outside where it's varied, multi-directional and rarely constant and a big 'ol fan in a tent that's beaming.

I ended up with some pretty good wind-damage with my current plants even with my 6" fans set low (but close to the plants). My next step was to put all of them on alternating timers so there was not only less wind but alternating directions. More recently I raised them all and used gaffer's tape to cut some of the flow and reduce the beaming.

Now you can feel the air move and there's a little bit of wiggle but not dancing or whipping. While the damage is done now for these the next batch I have much better hope for.
