Gray market is very strong here mids in the shops 200 oz. There was over 6 mil sold in the rec stores last month not bad for a state with just over a mil folks. I have always grown indoor sept-may no ac needed

Damn, that's a lot of weed. Some of these dispensaries must be making some serious bank.
So it's supposed to be sunny and up in the seventies during the day this week. Big-time Indian summer. All my mj is down at this point (just took the last Copper Chem yesterday morning) but finishing up the last few Cherry Wines now. This week should do it for me. All in all another pretty successful year. A little mold here and there but mostly just isolated spots (the Chinook Haze struggled with it, I filled up a large ziplock from that one, but the others were all just a bit here or there and most of the Cherry Wines had none at all).

Good luck everyone wrapping up what has been a good but challenging year for sure. To my fellow Mainers enjoy this beautiful t-shirt weather. Nothing quite like a sparkling October day in New England.

Mine are still chugging along. I'm going to try to let them go a couple more weeks. I grew some Biscotti outside this year that really surprised me. I have a Wedding Cake going in a 65g fabric pot that I dont think is going to finish. I should've known better than to try to grow that one outside. It can run 75-80 days indoors.

Thanks guys and girls for keeping this going.
My grow started late with sexing and then immediately put outside.
Lots of growth early, then I made a big mistake.
I used so much dish soap in my spray that i burned the big fan leaves so badly they withered and died in a week.
I have cut a Tombstone from Greenpoint since it was rotting so badly but I seem to have another good week or two to go on my other strains.

I am dead set in the mindset of Summer time light deprivation, under the sunshine for flowering, 12/12 during june/July! If at all possible!! It eliminates the worry of boytritus. And the intense mid summer sunshine creates a more potent bud, with a higher terpene content. That's just my personal observations from growing that way. It would be rather difficult to do with large pots though.

Some friends of ours runs light deps. and they've convinced me I need to invest in a small one. I've got a good spot and all the crushed stone I need from the plant our trucks haul from. got some beauties from Useful, Bag of Oranges and an actual blueberry smelling Blueberries and Chocolate. Crossed both these strains with a Bodhi Dragonfruit male, and a Swamp Boys BRZKR for good measure ( the Useful clones were very small when I put them out and the DF was already releasing pollen)Couple pics of the mother's i grew out in the flowering garden.

This year I tried topdressing with malted barley after reading some stuff from
Lookin' mighty fine there. I think we're good on weather the rest of the week--might be some moisture on the weekend but maybe not. It's practically shorts and t-shirt weather here in the midcoast today.I'm tapping out after this week, too skeered to push it any further

FYI, I tried a trick I heard from Coot where you topdress with malted barley. He claims it makes them finish faster and better--like as much as 2 weeks faster. Others have said similar. My Greenpoint sativas are down now and they were finished (at least to my taste--plump calyxes, mostly cloudy trichs with just a few starting to go amber, not looking for polio weed). Something to keep in mind for next year.
I get why people here go light depo. I might try that next year with a plant or two but that seems like massive work. But sailing into October is certainly dicey. I think the trick is to run mold-resistant strains and use every trick in the book to minimize moisture (siting, plant spacing, promoting air circulation, topping, pruning, etc.). And probably most importantly making sure the plants are as healthy and vibrant as possible going into fall so their immune systems are in top working order. This is only my second year but I've done pretty well on bud rot and haven't seen a lick of pm (on the cannabis anyway--saw some on my lilacs and white clover leaves). One problem plant last year and again this year, but all the others have either had none or just an occasional isolated spot. Probably helps that I check them maniacally every day and remove any rot spots immediately. Personally I think covering them can backfire by reducing air circulation so I never do that even if it rains (although anything in a fabric pot goes into the shed or at least on the covered porch).

I just cut my last one today. Took a big loss from mold this year but I’d rather have 50% of a mature harvest than a bunch of premature bud. I checked my last one on Saturday and it wasn’t too bad as far as rot. Weather was stellar the last 4 days but it still took an arse-kicking.
All my strains were rated as high mold and pest resistance. LOL. They can only handle so much…you simply can’t run strains that finish mid-October in the far Northeast without protection. Too much of a gamble.

I here ya its a tough call around these parts, The rh an dew points kill us here all summer i have seen autos an depos not covered 24-7 rot out in full july sun because of the rh in the 70s week after week

Well congrats. anyway on making the best of it. Looks like our stretch of Indian summer may be coming to a close with rain on Saturday so I'm planning to take the last 3 in the ground down predawn tomorrow. That leaves just 2 in fabric pots that I'll bring into the shed as needed till they finish.
Am thinking I may try producing some seeds next year. As I understand it, the plants will start adapting to local conditions over successive generations. Not saying that means I can grow a bunch of late-flowering sativas here in Maine but I think I may end up with hardier plants. All in all I've had pretty good luck with mold though, other than last year's Orange Blossom Special (lost maybe 25%) and this year the Chinook Haze (probably 25% of that one too).
Will report back later this fall with the full harvest report.

Wait I thought the point of the depos was to finish up earlier in the season? When did you start flowering these?
This weather this week is pretty much perfect for bud ripening, isn't it? I checked my remaining Cherry Wines today at noon and they were loving it, was t-shirt and shorts kind of day here in Knox County. Low temp at dawn this morning was *59*! Remarkable. Haven't check the high temp. for today here but it had to be pushing 80.
Sounds like we may have some wet coming this weekend though and then it'll cool down to normal mid-October temps.
Looking good Thumper. Calling for scattered showers possibly tonight in your neck of the woods, be ready. Should stay dry here in the midcoast.

These went to 12-12 on aug 10 this will be harvest 4 on depos my first was late june then every 30 days i have lots of time an the perfect spot. these get moved in-out each day 10 gal pots.

Wedding Cake, Biscotti, Black Banana Cookies, Apple Fritter, and Berners Cookies. All grown in blend of Coast of Maine and top dressed with my own compost. I used a couple of biofungicides/pesticides for prevention (Regalia, Bti, Venerate) and did one foliar of kelp, aloe, and silica early in the season. Other than that they just got rain water.
From earlier in the season until just a couple days ago. I'm going to try to take these down in another week or so. The 5gal buckets were stragglers and extras from inside.

Are you using CoM's Stonington Mix or one of the others? Great stuff, I use that to get them started, they absolutely love it. And I've been using it in my grow bags, too.
That was quite a load of rain we got this morning after a very dense overnight fog. Glad most of my plants are harvested now, prime mold conditions. Still have 2 Cherry Wines in grow bags under the covered porch and a couple more Cherry Wines still in the ground--for some reason they ended up being dwarfs (genetic?) and got a very late start flowering but are plumping up nicely now. Only one small spot of mold I just cut out today. These Cherry Wines seem pretty resistant.
What part of the state you in?
Got more rain coming tonight--judging by the radar it looks to be another big dump. Crossing Vermont now, should reach us this evening:

What's the story on the Berner cookies? Is he the originator of cookie crosses? I know he catches a lot of flak ( which i dont follow) but is friends with B-real of Cypress Hill which IMHO carries weight. Cypress Hill have repped cannabis for 30 years now, really before any other hiphop group.
