Looking for general tips on multiple strain SOG pheno hunt

Hey folks,

I'm just finishing up a grow and have decided for my next run to do a multi strain SOG pheno hunt to find a couple mothers. This will be done in coco.

I plan on running 6 to 8 strains, popping 64 regs to try to pull 32 females. This will be run in my 4x8, so 1 square foot per plant hopefully.

Anyone have experience growing this way with so many different strains? Just looking for general tips and tricks is all!

Pots im running are plastic square 5L (1.25gal), plastic mainly because I'm lazy and I have them on hand.

I'm doing this and it's being a pain in the ass. Go check my thread maybe you can help me out

My work probably has information you can take from. I think 1.25 gallon pots are way too big. 1 per sq/ft is a bit tough but it's doable. Will need to chop all side branches and dont overveg.

I'm sorry, i don't fully understand what you mean. Could you be more precise?

If my answer was not specific enough, then you need to ask more specific questions. My journals provide a wealth of information that pertain to what you're wanting to do.

That said, here is a small summary of things you need to think about and be prepared for:
- 64 regs are going to take up an enormous amount of space prior to being able to cull the males.
- You are going to experience dramatic variance in plant height.
- When you say "in my 4x8", do you mean a tent? If so, you are going to have a difficult time. It is much easier to have an open 4x8 where you can easily access all 4 sides.

Do you all think it's wise to flower multiple strains with the different flowering times ? Wouldn't it be better to pheno hunt one strain so they would all finish the same time ?
