How’s it looking so far?

I posted an initial post about my first auto grow on here and got some useful feedback. I’ve implemented what I think are good practices so far but I’m just posting some photos to get feedback.

My auto are about 6-7 weeks old now and have started to flower.
I’m carefully introducing bloom nutrients, while still giving some veg ones. The plants have begun to stretch a bit. I did implement some light LST too which has resulted in a reasonably even canopy but I haven’t gone mad. Nor have I with defoliation, just removing a few large fan leaves. I’ve sort of let them do their own thing to a extent.

I guess my concern is the bud sites, having little previous experience, basically do these look okay? And (I know it’s early to tell) do they look like they will yield some decent buds?

sorry you got ignored, but they look great man. too early to tell anything more than yes they are budding.
One thing im seeing a ridiculous amount of lately on forums is nanners in peoples grows. I have my theories on why a bunch of people are getting nanners on so called 'elite' breeders beans but suffice it to say that you should learn how to identify a nanner during flowering and check often.

They look fine but I wouldn't start removing fan leaves unless you absolutely have to, it can stress the plant and cause all sorts of issues.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ve been checking them and they look okay so far, they strictly have lady bits. I will keep an eye out though and try not to stress them in the meantime.

I did suspect it was a little early but I’m literally only taking a couple off each plant (if that) out of necessity. I had been doing a bit of tucking/training mainly but I’ve only taken ones that are touching the coco (and look a bit unhealthy), really blocking light from a potential bud, and to improve the air flow between branches. (Which it really seems to have done.) I’m not going to do anymore for at least a week or more and only if absolutely necessary. Appreciate the advice.

Always hard to tell how they're going to end up, but I'd be happy where you are. I'd avoid removing leaves unless you're having airflow trouble or you've got so many that the stuff mid-plant isn't getting any light. I just looked at my grow and at week 7 my NL looked like this:


...very similar to yours, though with less foliage and shorter nodes.

Now in week thirteen the main colas look like this:



...so yeah, you're on the right track. Looks like your leaf tips show a little bit of nutrient burn...

Yeah I get it. It’s hard to say for sure, if they end up like yours though, I’ll be happy.
So I’m growing in Coco in 5 gallon fabric pots and I hadn’t been watering enough (volume wise each time) to get any run off as my plants aren’t really big enough and the pots are quite big.
I’ve taken onboard what you say about the tips showing some slight nutrient burn and I was curious so I only watered them with pH’d water the last time I’d normally have fed and tonight I gave them a bit of a flush. I’ve been giving incrementally more nutrients (from about a quarter of what the manufacturer recommends now to about 3 quarters.) perhaps that’s still slightly too much? Maybe it will flush out/dilute some of the veg nutrients in the coco and next time I can tweak with more bloom nutes as they continue to flower. The conductivity of the runoff was different for each plant but ranged between 800-1000ppm. Which I understand is not drastically high? If I just leave them a few days to use up that water and get some air to the roots then bring the nutrients down to about half the recommended and see how that goes???
Or any advice would be welcome.

It doesn't look bad, just a tiny bit, so you probably don't have to pull it back terribly far.

My thing is, if I net a few ounces this round, I'm happy. I've invested in inline fans, fans, lights, tent and a bunch of other stuff. It would be great to basically have covered that with what the rough value would have been. If not, the next time it'll be better anyway. Each thing along the way I've learned from and that's probably the more important piece.

The buds look beautiful, the plant on the other hand looks like it might need protective custody.

But all the same, it has for 'main colas' and not much else. They just happen to be flowering from the base to the tops. I probably gave it no other options. I topped it and did some mild LST and that was pretty much it. Suffered from slow growth due to over watering as a young seedling. Also got too much light too early and even up through the middle of the grow. Later suffered lock-out since I didn't water to run-off. So lots of lessons learned. But I figure given it only had 4 places to really bud, it just made the best use of what it had.
