I dont think Australia would be under Japanese control. At some point Australia would of recalled its Army and asked for assistance from the Commonwealth. Not sure if Japan even had the capacity to invade Australia from the North in the 40's. Not sure if you have been there but Its a hostile environment that is fairly easy to defend.i wish we could look back in some magic machine that would let you see different realities play out...australia and south east asia would be under japanese control right now, most of europe and south america would be controlled by nazis, russia would have taken a huge chunk of india and china both as they expanded after the war...and America would still be here, trading with Canada, who would still be free because we kept them that way...
Germany sealed its fate when it had to invade Russia to feed itself. That was the moment they lost the second world war.
Japan never would have entered the war if America had not of had the trade war. https://www.independent.org/news/article.asp?id=1930
One might argue that the cold war wouldn't of existed if America didnt come into the war and all these wars they have started since would not of happened either. Its all if's, butts and maybe's. If Britain didnt set up the huge war manufacturing in America then America would not of become the global manufacturing powerhouse after the war.
But all that doesnt make my prev statement less true in any case.
