Hi growers, I’m helping my cousin post a thread about his plant. He barely speaks English and feels that he needs help from more experienced growers. It’s his first grow, and he’s been telling me about all the issues he ran into like heat stress, over feeding nutrients/water, bugs, and all that.

One thing he’s still confused about is how long the flowering stage is taking. At first he thought the plant was photo, only for the plant to begin budding and flowering on its own. It’s been 8 weeks since first buds appeared, but it looks nowhere near like the photos I see on Instagram.

I don’t want to hurt his feelings but I low-key feel like he wasted his time and money growing so long for such a small yield, but not complaining since I’ll be his first guinea pig. bongsmiliebongsmilie

His questions are:
1) His runoff ph is always above 7, the more acidic the water fed, the higher the run off ph. Could it be the dolomite lime or gypsum salt? Or the microbes in there?

2) How much longer will it take by looking at the pictures? He says about 1-2 weeks. But i’m thinking it’ll take much longer than that.

Much...much...much longer. Honestly possibly never. That plant has seen some stress. Stressed plants take for ever to finish.

Kinda looks revegged also or in the early stages of it. Like it went into flower then back into veg.

If my plant looked like that I would expect it to take 8-12 weeks or more to finish.

Put the scope away. When every single hair on that plant is brown. You can check the trichs.

I'm not a soil guy so sorry. Csnt help you there with the soil stuff. Id start up a new plant and get some tips from the soil guys on here.

Those look crazy if you didn’t say I wouldn’t think that’s a weed plant I’d just scrap that and start over look into what went wrong and why my life turned out this way

Thanks for letting us know your thoughts on it. He told me his grow room got upwards of 36c for the first few weeks of flowering before he began using the AC to regulate the temps. This was on top of the pests issues, ph, organic nutes, etc.

Yikes. 36c is hot hot hot!

Live n learn. I failed hard as fuck on my first couple grows. Fix your mistakes and move on is about all you can do.

Lol that’s funny. But also sad to hear that we got to scrap it out. Was looking forward for a good toke. He’s going to get started on two new seeds. Hopefully it won’t turn out to be a mess like this one.

Trial and error gotta start somewhere and build your knowledge from there you’ll be growing fat nuggets in no time just stay at it and remember no question asked is a dumb question

Let it finish or try to. A lot of help on here for newbies. KISS and get bud.
Will give her a week or two more before pulling the plug. Next grow will KISS, he realized maybe he went overboard with the organic nutes, thinking that organic ferts and soil amendments ec weren’t high enough for nute burns. Perhaps over feeding kelp or maybe because the phenotype was a sensitive sativa. Thank you, your support is much appreciated.

Hi growers, just an update on my cousin’s plant.

plant size stayed the same. pistils are now 70% orange/brown. Trich started to turn cloudy. Calyx are swelling but some look like they’re housing seeds. Checked the most swollen and inside it was a green premature seed. Seems that some calyx are hiding green seeds like peas in a pod, others have tiny specks of brown grain (seeds?). No sight of ’bananas’ or pollen sacs after manhandling him/her. Still he’s confident that she is officially a they now.

Should my cousin cut them now? Or will it not hurt to let the trichs mature a little longer?

Let them go as long as you can resist. Then give it another week. Seedy weed, is still weed. The little brown 'grains' are un pollinated ovum. Would've been a seed if it had found pollen.
