Let's see, he could get up to a year in prison, but the judge will probably sentence him to 9 months and he'll be out in 6 months. I don't know what Garland will do, he should be going after the lot of them for conspiracy to commit insurrection. He seems to be waiting for NY state to do the heavy lifting with Trump.

Bannon looks like he'd sell his soul for a drink after being locked up for a few days.

There's rumors about big things coming out in November.

After the Virginia state election I would assume. Or maybe NY will be finally ready to act against Trump. Truth be told, Donald is doing a pretty good job of doing the GOP, so I can see why they would want him running around loose for a spell. It would be nice if he told his base not to vote for republicans closer to the 2022 election.

House to vote Thursday on holding Bannon in contempt
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) says the House will vote Thursday on holding former President Trump's ex-strategist Stephen Bannon in contempt for defying a congressional subpoena.

The panel released a criminal contempt report on Monday that showed the committee repeatedly asking Bannon to comply with its investigation, just to be turned down by Bannon’s attorney, Bob Costello, multiple times.

"To that end, the Committee has rightfully voted to ask the House to cite him for contempt of Congress. Consequently, the House will consider a resolution on the Floor on Thursday to do so," Hoyer said in his statement.

"I thank Chairman [Bennie] Thompson [D-Miss.] and Vice Chair [Liz] Cheney [R-Wyo.] for their stewardship of this bipartisan Committee as it seeks to shed light onto that day of infamy," he added.

I watched the HBO documentary "Four Hours at the Capitol" last night. All I can say is "holy shit!"

This is one that everyone needs to watch. The news reports didn't show much of this stuff, and after viewing this I had trouble sleeping.

Make no mistake, that was a vicious attack on our democracy, and thousands of those rioters should be locked up, and including Trump and Bannon.

Former DOJ official Jeffrey Clark, who pushed baseless election fraud claims, expected to testify before January 6 committee
The House select committee investigating the US Capitol insurrection is planning for former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark to testify next Friday -- teeing him up to be the first Trump administration official to comply with a subpoena for an interview with the panel, two sources familiar with the committee's inquiry told CNN.

Clark's testimony could be a major step forward for Democrats as they attempt to determine what former President Donald Trump, Republican members of Congress and his advisers did and said behind closed doors about overturning the results of the 2020 election before January 6.

CNN has also learned that Alyssa Farah, former director of strategic communications in the Trump White House and assistant to the president, has voluntarily met with Republicans on the House select committee and provided information in several meetings, according sources familiar with the matter. There are two Republicans on the committee -- Vice Chair Liz Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger.
The panel has been talking to an ever-widening circle of witnesses as part of its sprawling investigation -- and testimony from Farah in addition to Clark would give the panel a crucial new level of insight into Trump's thinking after the election.

The select committee declined to comment about witness testimony.

Farah resigned from her role as White House communications director in December 2020, one month after the election. At the time, she said it was "the honor of a lifetime to serve in the Trump administration."

After the deadly January 6 insurrection, Farah told CNN that Trump lied to the American people about the 2020 presidential election results and said that he should "seriously consider" resigning from office.
Clark emerged in the last week of 2020 as a central player in Trump's two-month-long effort to overturn the vote in key states -- and as one of the officials who was in direct contact with Trump.

Rolling Stone Article: Members of Congress Assisted Insurrection Organizers; Gosar Dangles Pardons

In what can appropriately be referred to as a blockbuster story, Rolling Stone magazine reported that members of Congress and their staff met with and assisted those who organized the January 6 Trump rally/insurrection.

In a related story, CNN reported that five members of Trump's White House staff are also meeting with the House Select Committee and providing information about what was happening inside the White House in the run-up to the 1/6 attack on the US Capitol.

This video also explores the significant problems attendant to law enforcement authorities in the event they refuse/fail to investigate the criminal culpability of those who organized and incited the insurrection, including an examination of the federal crime of accessory after the fact, 18 United States Code section 3.
