Courtship. Stealing a kiss. That is something different than abusing power, abusing a situation. No, I have never asked a woman if I can kiss her. Which reminds me of another situation in the same bar (after hours, yes I was one of the Night People.
Wait, that is not it. Wait, Night Creatures.
A trio of girls used to hang out there also, one in this story. We were all sitting around the table having drinks and this girl and I had a discussion about something along the lines of Man Smart, Woman Smarter. She was a smart cookie and I would say my bit, then she would say hers, back and forth, some of the bartender staff university educated because what else you going to do with an Arts degree? So anyway she says her bit and thinks she has me now, I leaned over and got within an inch of kissing her before she realizes and pulls away. Everybody laughed as it said, "I could be a dumb guy and you can be smarter than me, me don't care, me just want to kiss you."
Or something like that. Yes it was not in courtship but it wasn't threatening. A little bit of a shock for her, in a way I outsmarted her, winning the argument. There was an age difference between us anyway. Fast forward at a party in a back yard by a fire she caught me off guard and planted one on me. I was a little upset. Not because of the kiss but because I was not expecting it and did not have the foreplay leading up to it so I can enjoy it as much as I should have.
Anyway, that is where we are right now. I guess there has to be some give and take between the two, you can not just grab a piece out of the blue, even if you feel you are being romantic. The other person has to be a willing participant. Not just, "I am falling for this girl, I am going to win her over with a kiss." I think that might be the order of the day. Don't surprise the person, especially if there was no signs you two have something going on.
More for the guys who think every woman is attracted to him. Or woman actually. But I am not telling you that story.
