Bad growing advice

What would your advice to a new grower be for a good starting medium? Imo, they all have a learning curve.

Speaking of other flowers my nasturtium,s have had a 2nd flush due to the mild autumn.
The 1st hard frost finishes them off for the year.

Ok, that's good for a month, give or take.

Yeah but the nutrient issues are easy (again, for a newb) a teaspoon of fish fertilizer in a gallon of water is about all the nutrients you need after that month. Bloom nutes maybe, but not for a shorter flowering strain. Telling a newb to use hot fertilizer in store bought potting soil is a recipe for a bunch of fried plants. Again, look at the original post. I pulled it off a thread where some dude was asking for advice on his first grow. I will die on this hill. MG combined with potting soil is shit advice for a new grower.

Agree. Our climbers and bush roses are still going. Also, we're in the middle of our Fall raspberry harvest.

It isn't about the sustainability of the peat moss, it is about the CO2 release when it is dug up. Peat bogs are a massive CO2 soak. The sale of it is being banned in the UK and Europe anyway.

If the truth be known my classic VW Camper is probably more environmentally friendly than any modern electric vehicle. But as the UK government is banning the sale of ICE cars in 2030 I have little choice.
